The New York Times just dropped some worrying news: more kids and teenagers are getting prescribed a bunch of psychiatric meds all at once. Even though doctors are handing out these meds like candy, nobody's sure if they're safe or what they're doing to kids' brains as they grow. This whole mix-and-match med thing is especially going up among kids who are in foster care or have disabilities. Basically a repeat of what they did in the 1930s and 40s handing out benzodiazepines in orphanages and calling them "vitamins" and then in the 1950s handing out barbiturates to housewives and calling them "Mother's Little Helper".
