It seems to me that this sentence contradicts itself. If men are being frequently chased by single women, that would indicate that their SMV is high.
Nobody is writing articles saying that women in their early 20s are becoming delusional about their sex appeal because they are being chased by so many men. The proof is in the pudding.

This forum has frequently documented that men's SMV peaks in his 30s and 40s. The article seems to assume that middle aged men are only being chased by women that are their own age, but that was not my experience. You have to stay in shape, but older men will be chased by younger women as well (although many men do not realize this). Look at this forum, I'd say most of the 30 and 40 year olds here date women many years younger themselves.

According to the writer's logic SMV doesnt depends on the demand on middle aged men but on some other factor that those men lack?

I guess he/she needs to attend a basic module in economy to understand the concept of value and how such concept is connected to desire, needs and will of people to pay for such good.

Once he/she manages to complete that module we will try to explain how "scarcity" increase the value of something if if such thing is ordinary as...single middle aged men or not too fat girls.
