lol of course it does...porn makes men RAISE THE STANDARD OF WHAT THEY EXPECT THEIR BIATCH TO DO IN THE BEDROOM....women don't like ANYTHING that makes them DO ANYTHING...women like to give the orders not take them.

Porn makes men think that they might actually enjoy a woman who can take it up the azz or gobble some cvm once in a while...women are terrified that their docile beta credit card doormat husband might actually EXPECT SOMETHING OF THEM.

Porn is fine in small doses but it can do damage to a relationship.

That said, this is another story where the obvious isn't addressed, i.e. why are they looking at porn in the first place. You could just as easily have a story about women reading Harlequin novels or 50 Shades of Grey.

Yes the study would have been more relevent if it focused on long terms/marriage partners in their 30's or 40's. But since it is focused more on short term college age women "feelings" with regards to the quality of their own relationship vs. their partner porn viewing then it reached the conclusion that porn damages relationships.

I would like to see the sizes & looks of these women who say that porn affects their relationship quality, sexual satisfaction and self-esteem as well as to answer why don't these women just leave their men if they are so unsatisfied?! Sexual market value is the answer to all these questions and not porn viewing, unless they belong to the tiny percentage of men who are completely addicted to it.

Not only that, but what's the difference if the porn is playing in the guy's head while he jerks it or on the screen? Your BF is probably going to fantasize from time to time, without you.

Of course the headline is going to be interpreted as porn causing the bad relationship, when in most cases it is the unhappy relationship that causes the porn use.

The uncomfortable truth is that porn has saved/prolonged more marriages than it's ever destroyed.

Of course, the use of umbrellas leads to raining.

Seriously just imagine how frustrated a guy can be to prefear porn to his girlfriend/wife.

Imagine how she is either unattractive or annoying, the problem in guys using porn is not that they are bad (when in doubt blame the men mainstream media), the problem is that they cannot get satisfied from their women.

Considering how few it needs to satisfy a man nowaday (a woman not really ugly and not too annoying can do) you can get how poor those relationships are.

Imagine this poor guy who come back home from a heavy day at work, the frustration of the traffic and the work place, he then come back home just to be lectured from his wife about his duties and how he should be grateful to have her still sticking around and how he doesnt deserve it.
Make it with direct words or showing with action...now can you blame the poor fvcker if for few minutes look at some big boobed blonde girl getting naked and showing him her assh0le with the request of sticking it inside?

Do you think the guy would still chose the video to a wam hug of a cute grateful accepting wife?
We all know the answer, also those indecent people bashing porn.

Porn is toxic and highly addictive, we all know it just admit it. It raises your physical standards to unreasonable and unhealthy levels, which limits your opportunities.
Or maybe simply makes you aim highter therefore forcing you to perform more and more in order to get it?
Isnt it the point of this board, to simply give the best of you to achieve/get more and more?

The guy who run faster is the guy who wants the cup for the national competition, and even if he fail at it he then learned to run fast enough to get the regional one.
Those aiming to the regional one are most likely to get none.

Exactly. The problem is not the porn. The problem is that the girlfriends/wives are so inattentive that their boyfriends/husbands need porn to have some kind of outlet. A porn habit does not cause a bad marriage; a bad marriage causes a porn habit.

You have to read between the lines.

Young women who report that their romantic partners look at porn frequently are less happy in their relationships than women partnered with guys who more often abstain, new research finds. Discovering explicit material on a partner's computer "made them feel like they were not good enough, like they could not measure up"
The key word here is report. In other words, women who DON'T report about their husbands porn use, or simply don't know about it, aren't having this same self-esteem problem. The ones who report it are having issues with it. It's a self-selecting bias.

Studies like that should be taken with a grain of salt because they are really hard to control and have loads (no pun intended) of lurking variables. Porn may be a relatively innocuous (or even helpful) part of a marriage or it could be really destructive, but there is always more to the story than just the porn. Porn is usually a symptom.

I agree with Samspade that for most people in small doses it is probably fine, but too much is destructive. If you are spending all your time looking at perfect young gorgeous women getting blasted from all angles, it fosters dissatisfaction, then guilt, and so on.
