What you are seeing here is just one symptom of a broader issue in the developed world, which is a highly prevalent degree of social isolation and loneliness. This is a trend that's been slowly growing and growing for quite a while now, though it's a hidden issue for sure. There are tons of surveys and stats that are showing a good portion of people have NO ONE to confide with in regards to personal matters. I guarantee you that you know or have some proximity with someone who is like this, you just aren't aware because they aren't broadcasting it to the world lol.

With that said, I believe that this also ties in with the dating market and the fact that a very large number of men are getting nowhere with it. It's not hard for even unattractive women to get tons of matches on a dating app or receive a ton of attention off of her social media. Sure, they might not find what they are looking for in a relationship, but if they want sex or a first date there isn't much of a struggle there. This is not the case for the vast majority of men, and when you combine that with them perhaps having a poor or nonexistent social life this is what you see.

With the AI thing in particular, you should expect to see this really take off or become incredibly advanced as we get into the middle of the century. Also totally possible we see sex robots as well lol. I'm not sure how old you are, but the next several decades are going to be a wild ride.

Her (2013) is another sci fi movie that is more realistic about AI and not crazy over the top like Bladerunner 2049. It looks like at least we are at that level.

But do you really think guys who are in those masculine jobs or the types that train to be that way are really sexless? Its more likely that insane cost of living issues would drive people out (ie if your job cant put a roof over your head and craters your SMV as a provider type), then being sexless is a side issue to the cost of living. Many women eventually settle with those types if they still want them.

If you are talking about soyboys who want an easy life and an office job, etc... then that type of guy (myself included) is going to have issues since these are not hyper masculine type of jobs. Those types would not go for those jobs in the first place

I had a class assignment once in an AI study class where the students were tasked with trying out the Replika app and describing the interaction. The general consensus amongst the class was that the AI would gradually just try to mirror your personality based on your responses after a string of bland generic conversation. After it changed to match you, it would ask you if you wanted to get romantically involved. I rejected the offer, and the AI reverted back into it's blander state. The behavior and dialogue was hilariously predictable. I don't remember if anyone else in the class tried the romance feature (If they did, they probably knew better than to talk about it.)

Overall, I would say that these apps are pretty far from realistically depicting actual human female conversation. With that said, there is sadly a demand. The Constant development of realistic sex dolls, automation technology, and even artificial wombs is driving us to point to where a "synthetic woman" can exist (Note: "can" does not imply "should"). These various AI apps are likely the building blocks for the mind of this "synthetic woman." Bladerunner might end up being prophetic lol.
