For the past 2 years Ive been in the USAF though for the past few months Ive been in the process of switching to the Army. Well things finally went thru and Monday Im going to Meps to redo my contract. THings are happening pretty fast and I'm sure Ill be outta here by the end of the year. Ive been stationed here in Texas for the past year and its pretty much my home right now. Im sure some of you have read my past 2 threads on this girl I spent the night with Saturday-well Im kinda fumbling things but I guess it doesnt matter seeing how Im leaving though Im considering hanging out with her before I leave for the Army. Im going to go for infantry btw. So my life is definitely going to change quite a bit from my current lifestyle in the Air Force.
Anyways I guess Im just venting...

What happens, IN HER MIND, is that she comes to see you as WORTHLESS simply because she hasn't had to INVEST anything in you in order to get you or to keep you.

You were an interesting diversion while she had nothing else to do. But now that someone a little more valuable has come along, someone who expects her to treat him very well, she'll have no problem at all dropping you or demoting you to lowly "friendship" status.

Hmmm Might i ask why you'd leave USAF for Army?

Just seems strange to me is all... my preference would be Air Force...

I'm also interested in why you decided to leave? I've talked to a lot of army guys and all have wished they'd gone USAF

God speed, and be safe, where ever you go.

Your sacrifices are appreciated by us 'older guys'. Just remember to be safe and look after the guys around you.

Best of luck to you, soldier.

Just because a woman listens to you and acts interested in what you say doesn't mean she really is. She might just be acting polite, while silently wishing that the date would hurry up and end, or that you would go away... and never come back.

Yea well most ppl think Im crazy for leaving the Air Force for the Army. But infantry is something Ive always wanted to do and the USAF was just my way of playing it safe. Im going to Meps Tuesday to do my contract and then the recruiter says I should be gone within 2 weeks.
To each his own I say-the Air Force just wasnt my thing. For a lot of ppl theyd like it since its more laid back and not as much physical work but its not something I take pride in.

I understand that. Personally i love high tech stuff so Aircraft and other USAF stuff appeals to me, But i also like the "grunt work" of the Infantry.

i know quite a few people in the army here in canada and most have done tours in Afghanistan, the biggest recommendations they gave me (should i join or be drafted) was Underarmor shirts (they have one that's approved by USMC, not sure about Army) and Level 4 body armor (Ceramic plates)

One guy showed me a picture of one of those ceremic plates after taking a .50 cal. It had been pulverised into dust, but they guy survived.

God watch over you, and good hunting.
