I know because I was one of them. The overthinking. The paralysis. The silent drive home kicking yourself for freezing up. Watching average guys walk away with the girl while you stood there stuck in your own head.

I need a new bike. I ride my moms 86 Nishiki Colorado to school and it weighs about 40 pounds.
I love biking and how stress reducing it can be, not to mention all the praise I get for being “green” haha. I was looking at a trek soho s when i heard about IRO cycle and building a bike.
So now I’m thinking about building a entry level fixed gear bike. Building because its not much more expensive and gives you something to be proud of. My budget is preferably under $700. Im wondering whats the best frame for money, wheels, saddle, anything else that I might want to put some thought into.

I have a brand-new, 2006 Cannondale F600 Furio mountain bike frame(size L), and some misc. parts I can sell you(like wheels, saddle, bars, etc- no fork, though). With the right street slicks + disc brakes- this bike builds-up to an awesome sub-25lb. urban commuter. PM me if interested, for pix and details....

The bike shop I go to is gonna sell me a set of Vuelta wheels for $250, italian made. I bought a Michelin Speedium tire and a Maxxis tire, 1 week later I go back in and the owner told me that I need to be careful with the Speedium tire when it's wet out because they are prone sliding excessively.

The saddle I got for free at another bike shop and it works well with the long-distance rides and probably isn't too expensive to begin with. Be sure you have the right width for the handlebars. I had to replace mine with a Ritchey 44cm set that is wider but proper fit to me.
