Anyone have crappy hair?

I dont really know what to do with mine, it looks bad short or long.
It's black and really really thick/puffy (not really curly though, but it's got this poofy cotton candy thing going on)
Right now I just get a number one on the sides and an inch on top every week, pretty lame and generic but it kinda looks somewhat decent for about 3 days or so....
by the 4th day it just looks like crap again

Problem is after a few days that buzz on the sides starts sticking straight out, now with the top is a whole different problem... since it's so puffy I have to use a lot of gel, it looks good until it dries. Once it dries, I dont know if it's b/c my hair is black or what, but it just looks really plasticky and dirty.

So yea this is getting really damn long for a post about hair but I don't know what the hell to do. My second dilemna is im white/hispanic and pretty pale... but I have a lot of "black" features like the wide nose etc.
Ive thought about getting more of a African-American style, like those short little braids Shawn Wayan had but then again I'm not really black

Hell I don't know what to do with it, anyone else have hair like this, what style do you get? One last thing I thought of is to just get a really short scissor cut all around... so that it will be as short as possible but won't stand up like it does when it's buzzed, how do I ask for that?

sounds like your hair is like mine man, its a burn i know, you can try spikking ur hair with finger-length SCISSOR cut. Seems to be the best for me, grows out kinda nicely. Lol, all you have to do is ask the hair stylest/ barber to cut it with scissors and they will, just make sure to tip cause its more work
