I believe that populism and “anti-intellectualism” result mostly from the effects of globalism. I think most people trusted experts prior to NAFTA.

Interesting comment, I think the advent of the regular joe’s use of the ‘Net’s ease of communication and spread of both information and disinformation comes into play as well.

What was previously relegated to low distribution magazines and photocopiers and snail mail now is available in seconds.
