"Stop Asking Your Friends What to Text Her"

Your buddy Dave has been single for three years and thinks "hey u up" is a valid strategy. Your other buddy Mike just got dumped and told you to "just be yourself."

You showed them her text. You asked them to decode the emoji. You drafted four responses and sent the screenshot to the group chat for a vote.

She's been waiting forty minutes.

Put the phone down. Stop crowdsourcing your love life. Type something that sounds like you. Hit send. Then go do literally anything else with your evening.

AMOGed by 7 dudes. Any suggestions for dealing with this?

So I was out over the weekend and spied a table of three hotties sitting alone. They all looked bored so I went over for a chat.

A second later seven musclar tattooed scary looking drunk mofos were all around. None of them said anything to me. They were just there. But they weren't giving me many friendly looks.

My overtures of friendship were recieved coldly.

Turns out these were male friends of the girls and boyfirends of two of the girls. But I did find out the hottest was not seeing any of them.

I politely excused myself a moment later.

And I must admit I think it was pretty obvious that my only reason for leaving was because I didn't want to get my arsed kicked. Only one of my boys was there (in another room having a good time) and he was too drunk to have done any good if things got rough.

I thing my tactical retreat was a wise move.

But it left me thinking if there was a better way to have handled it all.

I've read Tyler Durdens AMOG stuff but that doesn't seem designed for a large gang of dudes who are giving dangerous vibes.

Anyway, does anyone know tactics for getting out of this situation on your own terms?

My main concern is if I see those girls again how to make sure I don't look like a *****.

"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.

Every wise man knows when it's time to walk away.

There's plenty of women out there. You don't have to work your way through 3 women and 7 guys.

You excused yourself the right way.

I read that Tyler Durden thingy, and those lines might fluster the faggy British type, but they would get you knocked out in the states.

WC2: Thanks dude. Seemed the only smart thing to do.

Phyzzle: Totally! I think the "she's my girlfriend" "yeah? She's a slut." Would have got me murdered. Some of those TD AMOG busters sound real good on paper but I wouldn't want to deliver them in real life....

agreed. I wonder how many guys have gotten hurt and/or killed when it was really the wrong time to be clever?

You listened to your instincts and left a situation before it turned worse. If you didnt have enough rapport built with the women by the time you got AMOGd then it was wise to leave with that many d1cks standing around. The only thing you might have done is excused yourself and grabbed the hotties number before you walked off if you felt you had enough rapport built to do so. This is a classic situation where having a wingman would have been helpful.

I was at a bar/lounge a few years back, and was about to jump onto a table with these bunch of girls. But I noticed they were with some guys who were giving off some really crazy vibes, like they wanted to murder anyone who talked to 'their girls'.

So I decided to back off. Then the next week I read in the paper that on the SAME NIGHT, some Tyler Durden wannabe had been killed in a fight after trying to pick up some girls. I could only guess who these girls had been.

Sometimes it pays to be attentive. Nothing wrong with walking away if you're getting some psycho vibes.

Part of being a DJ is reading the situation and putting your dignity and safety above all else. Sometimes leaving the situation IS the DJ thing to do.

You did the right thing.

AMOG seems too much like fighting over Pus** to me, cant be dealing with all that nonsense.

Unless it comes naturally i would not try to fake it, does not seem to be any point.

Granted it may get you more womens attention, but i would rather look on as the guys are begging for pus**, hell i would rather chill sit back relax and take a sip of my pint then act like two rams trying to compete over ti*s and as8 and thats what AMOG seems to me, sorry but i dont value women that much to be risking getting into a fight or even butting heads with dudes.

Pus** is great but there is no need to take the stand of coc* fighting dudes to get it.

but i can see its application for a few situations just not in cold appraoch which it is mainly attributed to.

i.E maybe a good tool to master if some player is trying on with your girl, or you want to make a dic* look bad as he peed you off earlier, or you just want to get one up on a guy. Other then that i dont think AMOG and PU need to go hand in hand, i would simply NEXT and try another.

By the way, you didn't get "AMOG'd". You got threatened by a group of guys. There is a difference.

"I'm Not Looking for Anything Serious Right Now"

When a woman says it, guys hear a confession. A heads-up. A scheduling conflict.

Here's the translation: I don't feel anything. Right now. With you.

Watch what happens when a man triggers actual attraction. The busy career, the recent breakup, the "not in a place to date" — all of it evaporates instantly. The same woman who was guarding her freedom is suddenly free every night.

The "22 Rules" explain why. When the right switches flip, her timeline rearranges itself around you.

Props for approaching the 3 hotties!

You're resolution was quite good. The only other thing I can think of is to address the men, say hi to them directly and openly. Act like a sociable guy, interested in knowing all. Ask them all how they know each other. That lets them state up front what the score is.. it relieves things because they feel respected. At that point, check the vibe. A lot of times, it may be good, and you can continue to charm the gal, they may even encourage it because you handled yourself so adeptly... you're in the circle for the eve. In any event, they're not going to escalate the tension just because you greeted them.

In the interest of full disclosure, and not acting holier than thou.. I am not sure I'd have the presence of mind to pull off what I just suggested. I've done it before, but not regularly.

TD's AMOG stuff works just fine. It's more about the frame than what you actually say. I personally have AMOGed gangmembers and I've heard that TD's done it in LA also.

I think you should've stayed in there, because really you didn't get AMOGed it was just 7 guys who knew the girls who looked at you mean. If you had a strong frame and were just having fun you wouldn't care whether there standing by you or not. You became reactive to there presence and it fuked you up. To get back into your comfort zone you ejected for no reason. There are many things you could've done.

Roleplaying (Bodyguard)
C&F ("Hey these girls are bad girls! I wouldn't trust them" or "Hey you guys look tough I need you to take these girl's away from us.")
Engage the guys ("Hey you...you look like a ladies man I need your help...sex with my gf is boring as hell...what would be a great breakup text message.")

This is a typical hard set as I would call it. It has been done before by others and there will be hardier situations. But its always best to stick in there because it helps you grow. Imagine going in only bad situational sets over and over and then actually seeing a lone wolf. There would be nothing to fear.

My hardest approach to date was when I had to walk to the back of a crowded bus and opened a 8 set. (5 boys 3 girls) It turned out actually to be some fun, me and a few of the guys were joking around the whole bus ride. You never know what will happen until you try.

i can't stand people who look like, and act as if they are jacked up on staroids.....yea, going to the gym and being big is fine, but when you walk in to a club like your looking for a fight, pushing everybody out of the way and acting all rude and ****.....it just makes me wanna sucker punch you in the NUTS.

Life is too short to put up with retards like that

Thanks to everyone for responding with such great posts.

I must admit unfortunately I don't feel anymore enlightened. It seems that there are two differing opinions here and I agree with both of them.

1. Its not worth getting your head busted for one hottie when the club was full of them.

2. I gave up too early as every situation can be turned to your advantage (thanks for the tips snow ploughman) and I missed an opportunity to raise the bar.

Both totally valid points.

The best resolution I have found in all of this is an old one; be ready for anything, keep my frame, play every situation on its merits and trust my instincts.

Cheers

"Why Women Dump the Guys Who Try the Hardest"

You paid for dinner. You drove. You said "whatever you want is fine" every single time. All the effort, no expectations.

And she left anyway — probably for a guy who makes her pick up the pizza.

Painful. Also predictable. Her mind quietly concludes that anything requiring zero effort from her is worth exactly zero. You became a free sample, and free samples get taken for granted.

The 22 Rules flip the dynamic. Small shifts that get her investing effort, money, and time in you — until SHE'S the one afraid of losing YOU.
