"Stop Asking Your Friends What to Text Her"

Your buddy Dave has been single for three years and thinks "hey u up" is a valid strategy. Your other buddy Mike just got dumped and told you to "just be yourself."

You showed them her text. You asked them to decode the emoji. You drafted four responses and sent the screenshot to the group chat for a vote.

She's been waiting forty minutes.

Put the phone down. Stop crowdsourcing your love life. Type something that sounds like you. Hit send. Then go do literally anything else with your evening.

It's good to be pretty selfish and self absorbed but you can be this way to an unhealthy extent that can hurt your chances with women, dating, etc.

How can you identify if you are these things to much and what are ways to tone it down? Thoughts, ideas??

"She Liked You in March. It's October Now."

Attraction runs on a clock.

She flirted for weeks. Touched your arm. Found reasons to be alone with you. And you were careful. Respectful. Waiting for the right moment.

The moment had a shelf life. It expired around month two, and by the time you asked her out, she'd quietly filed you under "little brother."

One of the hardest lessons inside the 22 Rules: women rarely wait. Interest either grows or it decays, and nothing decays it faster than a man who never moves.

Make the move while she's still inventing reasons to be near you.

Love is like an economic currency. The more you give it out, you'll find that you won't have any for yourself. It is good to be selfish, but provide when the time is appropriate.

like being a people pleaser and feeling resentful when people don't reciprocate?

Yes, just focus on your life. Instead of the pedestal being placed under everyone's else's feet, you knock them off that pedestal and you stand on it. There is no need to feel resentful towards others because it hurts you more than it hurts them.

You can't always say no. You have to do things she wants to do sometimes in a relationship. Listen for her likes. Then suggest them like its your idea and what you want to do. She gets some of what she wants without you seeming to give in. You are correct. If you are selfish all the time she will eventually tire of it.

"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.

I would say that I'm a very selfish person but other people would disagree.

Why? I'm only selfish towards things I actually want and care about. If someone is doing something or needs something that I don't need or care about, I'll help them. Goes the same if they're in my way, I'll stop and help them but if we're aiming for the same goal I might just walk by.

Just my 0.2.

Always remember two things:

(1) You can not make someone else happy by making yourself miserable.
(2) If you are not happy, it is impossible for you to make others happy.

Keep saying this too yourself and it is much easier to develop as selfish attitude. It's okay to be selfish, because if you are not thinking of yourself first, you can not have quality thoughts about others... It's like putting on your oxygen mask before your kids... you can't help your kid if you are knocked out. First step in a healthy relationship is to make sure YOU are healthy by ensuring YOUR needs are met.

Trust me I do this in relationships with women. I've never even spent much money on women. In fact women have spent more money on me than I have them if you add up the total, way more.

I've never spent more than $ 20 on gift for a woman that's not my family member.

I'm not new to this site.

I disagree. The more generous you are, the more the Universe will reward you. I try to improve the situation of every person who crosses my path, and the path continues to get brighter.

Measure it with how successful you are on your first dates. If you get a second date out of a woman, then there's no need to adjust anything. If you're not getting a second date, then you need to examine what you're doing.

"I just moved here from Florida."

That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?

She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."

She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.

I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.

Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.

You are right to do so. Let me tell you something, once you buy really expensive gift for your GF ( in yours best intentions ), if she has even a slight doubt about your relationship, she will resent you.
She will feel pressure to return the favor since it’s such a generous gift, and since she probably doesn’t have much money, she will go to sex and favors. But that’s not true desire, its negotiated one, and she will hate you for putting her in that position.

Im not saying you should not be generous to the person you love, but be VERY aware of her reaction, it might not be what you expect, even if youre together for years now.

People will take your generosity as a sign of weakness and take advantage over your kindness.
