"She Laughed All Night. Then She Ghosted You. Here's Why."

Dinner ran three hours. She laughed at everything. You walked her to her car thinking this one's locked in.

Then: nothing. Two texts. No reply. What happened?

You did what most men do on a great date. You filled every silence, answered every question, and left her with nothing to wonder about. No mystery. Nothing to sit with when she got home.

Rule 3 of the "22 Rules" changes the ending: tell her a little, hold back the rest, and let her imagination do the chasing. The ghosting stops too.

For the past few days I've been seeing this girl, we've made out a few times and she is chasing after me (calling my phone and texting me all the time). Right now she is a little unsure of if she wants to "go out" with me and I've been subtly testing the waters, we were talking last night and the following conversation took place:

Her: So what exactly are we?
Me: Well, we are bipedal primates belonging to the mammalian species Homo sapiens, under the family Hominidae, aka Human Beings. Duh.
Her: I mean are we dating or are we just friends, I am kinda confused.
Me: Lol hell if I know, I've just been going with the flow, dating you wouldn't be too horrible though. What do you think?
Her: Duno what I think right now you said something about it yesterday I think.
Me: Heh, if I were you I wouldn't worry so much about placing titles on things , lets just keep being whatever we are. That being said I'm just about ready for bed, night.
Her: I agree with you totally, Goodnight ab500.
Me: I knew you would, so if anyone asks what we are just say we are girls_name and ab500 for now, thats a good title if I had to pick one :p
Her: I agree with you, there is no point in labels :)

So, what did I just do? I ethier made her feel at ease with not having to figure out if we are dating or not or gave her an easy way out of the question. I left the issue open for later revision and made it seem like this was more of a temperary thing. The chick totally digs me and if we are just friends we are definately friends with benifits at this point. Kino has been going great and she is pretty awesome. I've managed to keep her guessing a little bit by not answering her calls sometimes and sparatically answering text messages although I think I might be hanging around her too much, tell me what you think: (small field report)

Thursday: Saw her during school, saw after school till her ride got there, she initiated a kiss for the first time after this other guy that has been sloppily gaming her up was kinoing her kinda badly and I put this look of amusement on my face. Looked like she was trying to prove that she didn't really like him and wanted me.

Friday: Saw her during school. After a meeting I had with my mates she got her mom to take me over to my place, we watched movies and made out on my couch some, the plan was to go to this free dance, we went and it sucked so we went back to my hosue and finished watching supertroopers and get into making out again.

Saturday: I was busy most of the day, wasn't going to be able to see her but my schedule changed and I was able to make it to a bonfire her cousin was having (I amclose friends with her cousin). I saw her there and we kinoed some. She got a call about her grandpa being in the hospital or some **** so I kinda backed off of the sexual stuff for a while and just kissed her lightly, left around an hour and a half after I got there and went to bed at home.

She wants me to help her with her homework today, I'm guessing this is kind of an excuse to see me because she knows that I am enough of a geek to accually have fun helping someone with math homework (I love math and coincidentally enough that's what she needs help with). Should I be free enough to make it?

"I just moved here from Florida."

That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?

She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."

She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.

I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.

Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.

Unless you've offically asked her out, just tell her your in the 'test phase' and if she plays her cards right, only if, then u might take it a bit further.

Best thing to do is go with the flow. If she brings up the question, dodge it/bring it back on her, but the worst possible scenario would be for you to start calling her your girlfriend when she doesn't think so.

You're doing fine so far. You are seeing a lot of this girl, but keep yourself unpredictable and it should go fine.

Hmm. Just an update:

So she came over and we made out again, this time things progressed a little bit further. Her interest level seems to still be getting highe but maybe not as high as it was at one point. I think I will bring it back up due to the fact school starts back up tomorrow and we won't be seeing each other much. I like Skilla_Staz's idea a lot and will remember it.

Tell her you want a casual relationship. Just focus on physical aspects instead of all the mushy mushy emotional.

"How I Made Sure No Woman Ever Friend-Zoned Me Again"

She calls you when her car breaks down. When she needs help moving. When some guy she's actually dating treats her badly.

You're the listener. The reliable one. The guy who would treat her so much better, if she'd just open her eyes.

She won't. You trained her to see you as the low-effort option — the friend who requires zero risk and zero investment. Every favor dug the hole deeper.

The "22 Rules" break the pattern. You'll stop auditioning for a role she already cast and become the man she chases instead. It starts with Rule 1.
