Accents: Am I being ridiculous

I have a date (off online) with a girl today who has one of the most amazing bodies I've seen (any non believers ask me and I'll pm you a pic). Her face is good too.

However, I just spoke to her on the phone for the first time and she has this strong Scouse (Liverpool) accent. I'm a Brit but don't speak English with any kind of regional accent.

I have to be honest, her accent puts me off massively. I don't know what the equivalent for posters from other countries on here.

Question (mostly to Brits who will understand exactly what I mean): would you ever not smash a girl because her accent was so annoying/unattractive?

Edit: I only find this with English girls. Girls from any other country speak English always sound good to me).

I dislike most regional British accents, especially on girls because they usually sound unfeminine. But, I'd get over it if I liked the girl. Paradoxically I love Scottish accents.

Totally unfeminine. But I agree, Scottish accents are fine.

There's no way I could date this girl long term. The accent would grate on me until I went mad.

But I think I'll still try for the smash and grab. Her body is spectacular. I hope she doesn't talk too much.

Do you American bros have a problem with this (I mean American regional accents). I've never heard an American accent that particuularly annoyed me (except for hood rat American/ebonics). I don't even mind the Valley Girl speak.

I think you have to be a Brit to understand how horrible certain English accents (Liverpool, Birmingham) are. Don't you Americans get turned off by English girls with these kinds of accent? No foreign accent puts me off.

as long as it doesnt sound like a bastardized version of english and i can generally understand the speaker i dont really care.

That's the problem. I'm hoping it was just the phone but I only got about 80% of what she was saying. And I'm a native English speaker. The tragedy is that she seems like a bright girl. I'm sticking to foreigners, generally, from now on.

Most Americans don't understand that there is more than one English accent. My ex-wife was a UK citizen and went to school there. She had the high class, prim and proper accent, and she explained the differences between that and the way the ****ney plebes talked. I would not have known the difference except for her.

The American accent I can't handle in a woman is the upper east coast and Boston area. Second place would be Chicago, although there is a lot more variation there.

One thing about accents that always seems to be true is that regardless of the region, a regional accent will vary inversely with one's level of education.

Bible Belt, yeah, my accent is like your wife's. It's the only English accent I can tolerate, although if it becomes too Sloaney that is mildly annoying and horsey, but not that bad.

Far from being unattractive, certain accents give uniqueness.

Odd pronunciations offer easy ribbing and can actually help you get over your unease with it.

But not really an issue for me personally. But Scottish is hot. Reminds meof my old school teacher who used to flash me her tits over my own desk.

Update: I feel like a bit of a **** for my post earlier. I met her and she was cool, down to earth, funny (for a girl) and pleasant. She was clearly also smart. Her accent was very noticeable but oddly after about thirty minutes I stopped noticing it.

Ask her what side she comes down in the Merseyside Derby. If she's a Liverpool fan exit stage left as those lot are mental. If she's a toffee then you are good to go.

But in general stay away from those Scousers.

I imagine this is the kind of dumb ish women worry about. If the chick speaks proper english and doesnt sound stupid, then her accent isnt going to bother me. Boston, New York, Baltimore, Jersey all hideous accents for women. Could do without Pittsburgh yinzer vibe also. Valley girl accent is hot, same with Southern.

Lol...whats funny is that in other regions of the USA, most folks see southern and especially valley accents as unintelligent sounding. Im not found of the valley accent. It does sound air-headed when I hear women with it.

My wife's a brit and her accent, which is still quite thick despite living here for over half a decade now is so f'n sexy to me. she'll say **** like "backbreaker can you stop by the store and get some pepper for the stakes tonight" and i'll be all ready to smash and stuff.

I on't like irish accents it's a little too thick for my tastes. Being from the south I hate southern drawls. You can tell I'm from the south when I talk though, I'm not country country but I have that southern dialect.

Glad to hear you had a good time. There is more to a girl then skin color or stupid accents. Personality and how she treats you are way more important. Obviously, how attractive she is as well.
