I have noticed ever since I started focusing on my life and my happiness, alot of people are starting to stray from me. I used to be a giver type to my friends and I recently stopped because I felt it wasn't been reciprocated. Long story short , we don't talk as much and I can see the tension there now.
This is from both men and women , even co workers.

Did anyone go through a similar phase in their growth?

YES.

In general people attract two types of people to them:

1. Like minded people
2. People who want something

When you're a "giver" you usually attract #2. When you're more independent and indifferent you usually attract #1. Most of my current friends are pretty like-minded. The rest faded away naturally.. and I don't miss them because I have little in common with them to begin with.

Yes man, came a point in my life too where I just stopped putting in effort that wasn't reciprocated. I have fewer more meaningful friendships now and I like it better.
