"She's Out of Your League"

You've said it a hundred times. Maybe a thousand. And every time you say it, you train your brain to freeze the next time she walks into the room.

Leagues are a myth invented by guys who are scared of women.

She's a person. She has bad breath in the morning. She picks songs she can't sing in the shower. She overthinks her own texts.

Walk over. Say something. The league dissolves the second you open your mouth.

I'll describe this day.

I've ignored her for 2 days.

In the morning when I saw her, I said "Hello" and she said "Hello", not a 'glad to see you'-hello but just a gloomy, silent "Hello".

Today, when I was sittin in the library, she came, knocked on the glass to the room were me and my friends sat, and she screamed "hey, whats up". I did the 'come here'-sign and she came. I asked her what she was doing. Then she went to study but came back to borrow a pen. I hadn't a pen, so she left.

At our class, she sat by a overloaded table, there were to many there. She came over to sit with the table were me and my friends was. Her friends had a mysterious look, when they saw her walking to my table.

We worked together and I joked and she laughed. I laughed about her cause she said a funny thing, she laughed to, for about 30 seconds! very funny.

She was goin home earlier than I was so when I passed her locker, I held my hand on her shoulder and said "Goodbye" and a teasing joke about what she would do when I'll go home earlier than her next year. She said that gloomy "Goodbye" and she laughed ironically.

Why is that gloomy hello and goodbye?

"I just moved here from Florida."

That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?

She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."

She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.

I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.

Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.

sbgm,

That gloomy hello is the result of intricate neural networks, the problem in this conversation is that there is a lack of dopamine in the cerebrial cortex and therefore the decrease of electrical impulses diffusing across the synaptic juntion.

Or that you two have a symptom called Synapse Dysfunctionaria.

I will stop my BS and tell you why that gloomy hello.

IT CAN BE MANY THINGS, A BAD DAY, CONCENTRATING ON SOMETHING ELSE!! ANYTHING!

STOP OVER ANALYSING! :cuss:
