She asks it casually, mid-sip. And you feel the floor open up, because the honest answer is work, gym, and a couple shows you're half-watching.
Women rarely say this out loud, but a man with a life is attractive before he says a word. The guy who spent Saturday deep-sea fishing and came back with photos and a story — he walks in already interesting.
The "22 Rules" pushed me to build a life worth talking about. Turns out the fastest way to be interesting to women is to be interested in your own life first.
Attraction runs on a clock.
She flirted for weeks. Touched your arm. Found reasons to be alone with you. And you were careful. Respectful. Waiting for the right moment.
The moment had a shelf life. It expired around month two, and by the time you asked her out, she'd quietly filed you under "little brother."
One of the hardest lessons inside the 22 Rules: women rarely wait. Interest either grows or it decays, and nothing decays it faster than a man who never moves.
Make the move while she's still inventing reasons to be near you.

Brilliant. Feel free to cut and paste this post where you see fit. Some of us do pretend to have real lives.Mr.Positive said:Potato, for those of us with ADD, could you break this down into chapters...or get a cliff's notes version?
Funny that you would say that. I wrote the OP with the intention of showing the difference between what is normally talked about around here as to male-female relationships, and what others, at least I experience. It is the actual goings on of a single afternoon/evening.ketostix said:Potato's post is so obviously written by a female or a some type of trolling it's ridiculous. I mean c'mon if you went through and read 100,000 posts of guys on here not one would be written like that.
You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.
For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.
Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.
The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.
Places: A local restaurant with an outside patio that people often gather after work for a drink a socializing; a private party; and a bar. I don’t really get the thing with 20-somethings but quite often I do get a certain segment of 20-somethings approaching me, saying that I’m cool or whatever. I’ve noticed this interconnectionness, when I am ‘on’ with women, the more crap I get from police officers and others of limited yet intrusive authority, and the more “way to go” I get from younger men.Phyzzle said:Man, you should tell this in installments, and give people fake names, not this G-A-T-T-A-C-A stuff.
Large swaths of this make no sense. What are these "places" you were going? And you are a 48 year old man who went into a store, and got randomly approached by 20 something guys you've never seen before who invited you to smoke their dank weed out of the blue? Where the fvck do you live?
I never feel a need to isolate or ‘close’ on a woman. With every one of these women, the next time I see her, we will pick up where we left off.You already knew all of these girls, and they were giving you eye-contact and flirting, but you've never tried to isolate any of them? I'm not sure what we're supposed to take from this. Start from the beginning, and tell us how you met one of them.
Do you have long dreadloks? That I can see. Even if the dreds are gray, stoners tend to accept you.potato said:I don’t really get the thing with 20-somethings but quite often I do get a certain segment of 20-somethings approaching me, saying that I’m cool or whatever.
You posted this with the idea of showing us how your experiences are different from the norm here, but you have to remember: what you're talking about doesn't apply to most of us and never will.I never feel a need to isolate or ‘close’ on a woman. I never hit on women. It is more I just hang out and engage each one in conversation.
I’m not sure of the moment I met girl (A). Just somewhere in the continual changes within our social circles we ended up seeing each other around. When we’d show up to the same place we’d end up talking to each other.
OK I'll play a long. So you're one in a million. How does your posts help or apply to anyone else? I still don't buy what you post. What are the women's ages? You mention 20-year old guys but never mention the women's ages. Your post are very suspect. You might be a little low on your 100,000 estimate. My favorite girlfriend tells me that I’m one in a million. She also tells me that I’m the only guy that she’s ever known that could attract girls the way that a hot chick attracts guys. But then, she is heavily biased in the matter.
