Even back in the 1970s-1990s, it wasn't good to be a shorter than average man. I do think that female height demands have increased in the last 20-25 years.
I believe it. If you go back to before the '70s, most women wanted to be housewives and to have children. That doesn't seem to be the case anymore, so the physical requirements are all they really need men for.
