I remember watching a video where a 40-something prof was a RB for CalTech (evidently at that level, faculty can be on the team).

It's about f-cking time... Folks have been returning to university later in life to attain their PHDs, JDs, and MDs for decades now. No excuses for them to not take the field also

I'm impressed. I know by the time I was 58, I had lost more than a few steps.
