No, got too much on my plate, though I may occasionally step in and do some of the challenges myself for the hell of it.

Since quite a few veterans have joined, you should consider making it a two tier competition. That is, give them the same challenges, but allow them to win within their cohort.

I considered doing that and in fact, I like that idea.

I'm still not where I want to be, and last night I backed out of approaching a HB9, I don't want this to keep happening.

21 participants, who will be left standing?

As you see, I took Robyn's idea to heart and decided to put all of the vets into a separate division. At first the veteran tasks will only be slightly harder than the gladiator's task but the difficulty will steady increase as I try to weed guys out. If there's a gladiator and a veteran left standing at the very end, then they will be their respective division's champion and will compete head to head with each other to become the official champion. (Yep, all vets in the competition are now eligible to become champion if the circumstances end up a certain way since their challenges will be noticeably harder.)


Same rule applies every year is still in effect this year.

Two strikes and you're out.

What gets you a strike?

1. Not completing a challenge on time.

2. Failing to do the challenge at all.

3. Complaining about the challenge being too easy/hard. (This wasn't a problem last year but we had an incident of this back in the 2012 comp)


Without further ado, here's the very first challenge.


Gladiator's Division!

Approach seven people regardless of gender and strike up a conversation or at the very least say hello/good morning/evening/afternoon/your shoes are untied/I don't give a damn what you say/whatever. However at least three of them must be HBs. This can be randoms, a girl in class, anywhere. You do not have to get a number this week. What I'm looking for here is small talk and eye contact.


Veteran's Division!

Make three approaches and go for a number close in all three. It does not matter whether you get the number or not.

You all have until Sunday February 23 11:59 pm Pacific Time to get this done
