Congrat to the OP.

I've stopped looking at porn since April 14, 2013, and I can tell you that it has not helped me get another girlfriend. I plan to start looking at porn again from Sept 25, 2013 forward if I have no girlfriend.

I have a no-contact rule with my ex-gf that if I contact her then I'll ban myself for 7 years of looking at porn. That was effective in helping me move on.

The type of porn I look at mainly is escort ads. It just turns me on to see escorts, and the idea that I can call them to set up an appointment. Even during my period of abstaining I keep getting flashback of some of the ads.

Again, if staying away from porn helped in any way shape or form in getting a woman then I would ban it for life. My experience shows otherwise and any self-control in this area, even if I can stop viewing "escort ads", has not helped.
 

What happens, IN HER MIND, is that she comes to see you as WORTHLESS simply because she hasn't had to INVEST anything in you in order to get you or to keep you.

You were an interesting diversion while she had nothing else to do. But now that someone a little more valuable has come along, someone who expects her to treat him very well, she'll have no problem at all dropping you or demoting you to lowly "friendship" status.

Thread is old as hell but Im sure more people will jump in. I've probably watched less porn in my entire life than most dudes watch in a day. Never saw the allure. Most of it is more comedic than arousing.
