Of course men don't need to be "alpha". The vast majority of men are NOT alpha.

Being alpha is for men who want to have lots of options and date women on their own terms. If that is not appealing to you then be a needy beta. You will still get laid and you might even get a hot girlfriend or wife. The main difference is you will be ruled by the women in your life and they will not respect you or feel much attraction towards you.

Remember that society needs most men to be betas. Betas are the cannon fodder sacrificial lambs of the world that eat sh!t so that everyone else can live well. Have fun with that.
