"The Kiss of Death Mistake"

You replay the conversation at 2 a.m. She texted back fast yesterday. Today, nothing. Was that smile friendly or flirty? What did the shoulder touch mean?

Every hour you spend decoding her signals drains your confidence and hands her the controls. Women can sense that insecurity from across the room — and it repels them.

One of the "22 Rules" kills the obsession on the spot: assume she likes you, and act accordingly. Sounds too simple. Works anyway.

Her interest tends to rise to meet your expectations. Psychologists call it a self-fulfilling prophecy.

What video games are you guys playing these days?

"I just moved here from Florida."

That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?

She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."

She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.

I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.

Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.

I had originally decided that a Switch 2 wasn’t worth the asking price, but that Zelda remake is so close to changing my mind
I think they have only increased the price once, like 50 dollars or something iirc. Compared to how many times (and how much) Ps5, Xbox Series, and Steam Deck have raised their prices; Nintendo is coming off as the budget option in my perception.

Nintendo Switch Successor
    • Price: $499.99 USD (increased from its initial $449.99 launch price on September 1, 2026). [1]
    • Details: Features a hybrid design with a 7.9-inch LCD 1080p screen and DLSS upscaling. [1]

PlayStation 5 (Sony)

  • PS5 Standard (with Disc Drive): $649.99 USD (following a $100 price increase effective April 2, 2026). [1, 2]
  • PS5 Pro: $899.99 USD. [1, 2]

Xbox Series S (Microsoft)
    • Xbox Series S (512GB): $499.99 USD (following a $100 price hike effective August 1, 2026). [1, 2]
    • Xbox Series S (1TB): $599.99 USD (following an August 1, 2026 price update). [1, 2]

Steam Deck (Valve)
    • Steam Deck OLED (512GB): $789.00 USD (increased by Valve on May 27, 2026, due to memory component costs).
    • Steam Deck OLED (1TB): $949.00 USD

Wow. I had no clue video games were this expensive nowadays. I thought it was Nintendo being unreasonable. I guess it’s just inflation.

Its not inflation as far as I can tell. Back in the good ol days it used to be that consoles would become cheaper as time went on; Now its the other way around, supposedly because of RAM and components shortages due to AI growing so fast.

Anyone playing through any horror games for the halloween season? I usually play Witch Hunt and Darkwood (among others), they are absolutely goated indie horror games.

"She's Out of Your League"

You've said it a hundred times. Maybe a thousand. And every time you say it, you train your brain to freeze the next time she walks into the room.

Leagues are a myth invented by guys who are scared of women.

She's a person. She has bad breath in the morning. She picks songs she can't sing in the shower. She overthinks her own texts.

Walk over. Say something. The league dissolves the second you open your mouth.

Little nightmares 3 The Backstage Dlc. New mechanics. Less than an hour. We liked it.

Not really horror but I have been playing Fortnitemares and Little Nightmares 3 with my woman. I might try some The Backrooms games by myself.

Sounds good. I might check them out eventually.

I still haven't even gotten around to playing Little Nightmares 2. But I really liked the first.

Just fyi Witch Hunt can be beaten in like 4-6 hours, whereas Darkwood takes like 25+ hrs, so might recommend the former if you don't have time. It could be a fun game to play with your girl too, as it's super atmospheric and tense and has a simple but interesting story. It has a Sleepy Hollow sort of vibe, except its actually scary.

Pragmata

Got this Sci Fi Third Person Shooter as a gift from my woman for Ps5 but this game is available pretty much everywhere and it is Steam Deck Verified. Great gamepley, characters, story, etc. I would highly recommend (especially if you have sequel fatigue or franchise fatigue as its an all new IP)

Derail Valley. If you like doing more that just driving a train from point A to B, this is the one. You have a career and you take on all sorts of jobs to earn money for licenses and gadgets for your train.
There’s shunting, long hauls, logistical hauls, loading/unloading consists, and several different locomotives you can earn licenses to operate. There are lots of cities, towns and industries that you travel to. Later you can unlock the museum license where you can tow old wrecked locomotives that you find lying in the weeds throughout the valley. You can then restore them, and at that point you own them.
This is one of those games where they really got the physics right and there are no annoying aspects to the interface. The locos and trains have a very heavy, physical feel to them. The sound is immersive.
This game doesn’t hold your hand. You’ve got to figure out how to logically navigate around various train yards by throwing the correct track switches. It’s a great way to get lost for several hours at a time.

Undead campaigns in WC3 was a yearly thing for me for a while. Now I'm not so sure.

"She Laughed All Night. Then She Ghosted You. Here's Why."

Dinner ran three hours. She laughed at everything. You walked her to her car thinking this one's locked in.

Then: nothing. Two texts. No reply. What happened?

You did what most men do on a great date. You filled every silence, answered every question, and left her with nothing to wonder about. No mystery. Nothing to sit with when she got home.

Rule 3 of the "22 Rules" changes the ending: tell her a little, hold back the rest, and let her imagination do the chasing. The ghosting stops too.
