mike mentzer must be the most underrated bodybuilder of his time.Dorian,sergio and many other pros have used his methods true these guys shot steroids .But i'll take his training methods over arnies 3-4 hour workouts any day.By the way most of the strongest bodybuilders started out as powerlifters.

The chocolate war by romert cormier awesome book I read in school. The art of war of course. anything by neil strauss. I know you didnt mention movies but i have to add KIDZ one of the most underated films of the 90's.Anothe fav pumping iron my fave documentary.

I have to say after reading the four hour work week it has to be the best for gaining muscle in the shortest amount of time ;)

I was in the same boat tried to join the military I went the jobcorp route in stead of uni good planning on my part cut some friends off.Read the 48 laws of power by robert green wish I had this book in high school .My biggest regret back then not playing a sport hope all goes well for you.
