Don Juan
Posting an update. The thing with Girl 7 cleared itself up, lol. No contact today, so yeah, fortunately, I went for the kiss, got rejected, and got my answer. That girl simply wasn’t interested.
Now I think it’s time to create another number for a girl. This one is going to be number 8.
Girl 8 — “Cold Approach”
I took my dog out for a walk, as I usually do, while reading philosophy on my Kindle. From a distance, I saw this girl in the park walking her beagle. I’m pretty sure I saw her last week and spoke to her briefly, but I was short on time, so it was probably a one-minute conversation at most, without much chit-chat.
Today, though, I got a better look at her, and boy, was she beautiful. Dark-blonde hair, almond-shaped eyes, a sweet smile, thick legs, and a thin frame.
The first time I saw her today, I only glanced at her. I noticed her dog wanted to meet my Chihuahua, but since I hadn’t really paid much attention to her yet, I didn’t think much of it. The second time I saw her, though, I realized she was really cute.
For whatever reason, after I first passed her, she sat down on a bench. Then, as I was getting closer again, I saw her stand up and start walking. She was struggling a little with her dog because it kept trying to reach my Chihuahua, and she also seemed to be walking pretty slowly, so eventually I caught up with her.
I approached her with, “Hey, is there any problem if I let my dog meet yours?”
She answered, “Oh, not at all. It’s okay.”
After that, we started talking. This was when I really got a good look at her and realized she was gorgeous.
While we were talking, I asked her dog’s name and started petting her. I can say with 100% certainty that her dog loved me, lol.
She was also really funny. At one point she told me, “Oh yeah, last week I appeared in an interview here. They were asking something about the smell, but I didn’t understand what they meant, so I told them that the garbage over there sometimes smells really bad. Later, though, I realized they were probably asking about a completely different smell.” I told her, “Look at you, trashing your own park and neighborhood. Are you always like that?” lol.
So we were laughing and having a good conversation.
One thing that caught my attention was that, at one point, she asked me, “So, is this the time you usually take your dog out for a walk?”
I answered, “Yeah. The weather makes it pretty much impossible to come earlier, and unless my job forces me to change my schedule, this is usually my preferred time.”
Then she asked me my dog’s name. His name is kind of a joke, and interestingly, she was one of the few people who actually got it. I told her, “You’re actually one of the few people who gets his name.” We talked for a couple more minutes, and then I said goodbye.
Now, this is where you may agree or disagree with me. You might say, “You should’ve asked her name and asked her out,” and I get it.
However, the last time I rushed things like that, I may have come across as a little desperate. This time, I want to be more patient, let her wonder about me a little, and create some mystery. Although, if you think I’m overthinking it, sure, give me your feedback.
I hope, and honestly think, I’ll see her again this week. That’s the approach I’m leaning toward.
If I see her again tomorrow, I’ll actually ask her name and escalate things a little more. Maybe I’ll even invite her to get ice cream with me, there’s a place right next to the park, and we can walk around together. I'll eventually bring up to the conversation that I'm moving out, and I want to be with her on date before I actually leave (I'm just moving near my job in the same city).
What do you think?
I’m particularly wondering whether her asking what time I usually walk my dog could have been a sign of interest. Obviously, it could also have just been normal conversation, but it definitely caught my attention.
Also, in other news, I’m going to reduce my use of dating apps. I don’t want them to become a crutch.
I basically changed my bio to: “Looking for something casual. If you don’t know what you’re looking for, don’t match with me.”
I know that’s highly polarizing, but I honestly don’t care that much about getting laid through Tinder. If it happens, cool. I’d rather focus more on meeting women through cold approaches or through my existing social circle, and seeing whether I can build an actual connection that way. I'll leave dating apps for casual only.
