My mother never left this home since October, 2025 during Canada's Thanksgiving day. She was inside the home all winter long.
For mother's day, I was able to get her on an evacuation chair, take her outside before sunset, where she experienced being outdoors, having fresh air seeing grass, people walking on the street and the sky. The day itself was very hectic with caregiving issues (ie both dad and my mother are immobile and need assistance...). Three PSWs come per day for mom, 2 for dad, and my Aunt visited dad and was in his room, so things were very hectic as I'm coordinating everything and try to keep things and two parents can be demanding when they rely on you for everything.
Through all this, I still managed to get her flowers (AI recommended I put them in the basement in a bucket of water rather than leave them in the trunk overnight, AI helped me stay on track with the day, even write a touching letter to my mother that she thought I wrote and encouraged me not to give up despite feeling overwhelmed by my overall situation and bring my mother outside (which I did)).
My mom remembered it the next day, and was particularly touched by the whole thing (I didn't tell her AI wrote her letter and I simply wrote it in haste because I felt too pressured with the whole day and couldn't think of what to write or felt it would take too much time, lol).
