It's a tool using surrealism to promote psychedelia and scramble people's brains and with it society.

As for the words in they lyrics they are meant to be evocative and not sensical.

The big thing though is the first Lennon (the alpha-ish dude who sang "A Hard Day's Night") making a cameo in late 1967 for this video after the second Lennon (the wimp who sang "Imagine") had been introduced earlier in that year. Also, that's the 2nd McCartney (the taller one) on bass.

Walrus is absurdity and the Eggman is reference to obsession they had with Buddhism in 1960s. He is making fun of people in England who are obsessed with Buddhism and drugs and **** -- similar to what we have going today with Mr. Travel memoir21.

In todays context Lonnon would be making fun of evangelical Christians who are obsessed with zionist pigs and the end times and bringing back the christ and anti-christ, all that bull ****. Perhaps even khazar khanate in modern days, lubavitch, rothchilds and all that elitist behind the curtains trash.

Ah, The Beatles, I prefer to listen to the Rolling Stones on a good day actually. The Beatles are great for easy listening on road trips. They were on their Eastern religion phase on this one. I say Eastern religion because they probably saw it as a vanitical trend instead of studying its pure philosophy and essence. But props to them for being one of its early promoters in the West in the 60s.

With respect to this song, did you find the animal costumes, the wierd egg-hats or group of people on a white sheet with egg hats, or the London helmet police officers look more out of place? They referenced one "cult" in their lyrics and others have suggested the eggs were a vieled reference to buddhism. I was really into this song (film) the past few weeks as it's high-energy madness and creativity. Something looked more haunting about the animal custumes or way the video was presented....like it was written by someone who was disturbed mentally rather than artistic, lol It really has a "stoned" feeling (I've never been stoned, but if I were, that music video sounds exactly like how that might feel because everything about it is just out of joint but musically lucid at the same time). Like it's just messing with your head.

You should try it sometime. The anointing oil in the Old Testament had an ingredient called Canna. Most scholars will say that is the canna reed from Egypt, but that doesn't make much sense to me. I think there is a good chance it was cannabis. The ritual of heating the oil would decarboxylate the cannabinoids and make the body able to absorb them.

The beginning peephole seems to have borrowed from it.

People don't say the Beatles had any defiant energy with this song, lol Just psychedelia...but modern songs like that above are defiant in contrast?

Here a more revealing video of the song. Again, the video is about people's minds and society being messed with, and there being little (at the time) that could be done about it. This goes beyond mere psychedelia and surrealism.

There clearly appears to be multiple "John Lennons" in the video. The main guy in the OP screencap who's at the piano, singing and acting goofy throughout the song, as shown here at the 1:38 mark



There is a 2nd lennon shown at the 1:23-1:24 mark, sitting down on the bus, wearing a hot and holding a kid:
