I live in a First World country. Tech everywhere. Stability. Comfort. People in the so-called “Third World” would kill for these things. And I’m not isolated, I have family, I’m a caregiver for my parents, I get massages (ie paid/insurance), I occasionally hug and high-five women in everyday life.
So yes, I get touched. But here’s the thing: I haven’t had romantic intimacy since 2014. No girlfriend, no wife, no partner.
Meanwhile, in “worse” countries, I see guys with less money, less stability, and worse living conditions… and yet they still marry, have kids, and experience solid connections.
So here’s the paradox: maybe First World men are in a deeper trap than Third World men. In the West, you can have abundance of everything except romatnic connections. Instead we drown in dating apps, social media illusions, and “fake abundance” while mid-tier men get squeezed out entirely.
I almost envy the guy in a poorer country who at least has a built-in path to intimacy.
Is the loneliness of the First World actually worse than the hardship of the Third World?
Discuss.
