different kinds of bars

I've never been a bar goer, but it is starting to interest me.
Could anyone make some classification of the different kinds of bar that exists ?

are all bars made to be social ?
Some only have squared tables and it seems that groups don't mix.

Look for neighborhood dive bars. Different types of crowds tho. Some older, some coupled up, some mixed batch, some mostly singles. Find the bars, then go find the one that you fit in with …

If you go early during the day it's mostly gonna be older people. Once it hits around 10pm that's when the younger people go and the old people move out. At least where I am.

Dive bars - macro brew beer mixed drinks maybe 1 or 2 types of wine. Play Boss dice on the bar to see who pays for drinks, Regulars are low class alcoholics, but can be popular with young crowd "doing the rounds". Doesn't have windows, seldom has entertainment

Beer/Wine Neighborhood bar. Often attached to a neighborhood store. may have a patio and some food like sandwiches. ususally small local music acts on weekend

Restaurant Bar - Attached to a large full service restaurant. Can be a classy steak joint or as casual as an independant Bar & Grill. Often nationwide chains. National beer selection, Topshelf and well liquors and a dozen wines from large labels. Sports bars are often this style

Hotel Bar - High class dim lit, easy to converse in 4-6 beers and wide array of top shelf liquor. Usually closes earlier than downtown bars. Caters to business travellers

Micro brewery 6-20 beers they make on site. Pub Grub food, or food trucks

Taproom 30 plus beers - lots of beer snobs. Pub grub. often overpriced but nice patios or decks.

Dance club bar - Loud DJ music or band. Frequently drink specials on shots or ****tails to get you drunk.

Country music bar - Big dancefloor and pool tables. Frequent rotating cast of Bands. Full liquor bar with specials on cheap beer.

English/Irish/Scottish Pub. Made to emulate a pub in the old country. Imported beers and regional copies of the cuisine.

If there is a college near you then I would hit up the bars near it. Go there around 10pm Thur - Sat. You will have more then enough women to talk to.

Karaoke and trivia nights can be fun.

A good dj can get people dancing.

If there’s a jukebox I start conversations sometimes by asking the ladies sitting next to me for song recommendations. You can download apps and select the music from your phone.

I can’t stay up past midnight chasing tail anymore. It’s a fun time, you should experience the variety.

Remember the legal limit, my state is .08.
Don’t drink and drive.

Try not to wear beer goggles.
