When feminism first made itself felt in the 1950's it was all about getting equal rights for women. Feminism really began with the Suffragette movement founded in 1903, and has taken 117 years to get to this point. Each generation takes approx 20 years to get to the point that they wish to give birth to the next generation. Those first feminists were in their 20's already, and subsequent generations followed on in 1970, 1990 and 2010. Each generation brings it's own ideas about feminism to the argument, fueled by different or amended ideas of what they want feminism to do for them. Hence you could argue that each generation has brought forward a new wave and as there have been 4 generations since that beginning, it ties in quite nicely with 4th Wave feminism coming to the fore. However, the Fifth generation has already been born and indoctrinated so do not think that this will reverse any time soon. I think it is fair to say that, as it took nearly 120 years to get to this point, even if women started right now you can expect it to take an equal amount of time to reverse, so society might correct itself by 2240.
