The health risk of covid19 you would think or maybe the conseguences of the lockdown in terms of lost revenues and crushing economy?

Naaa accordind to them the biggest priority of the european union is discussing about george floyd, I kid you not thats exactly what happened.

You will hardly find any place with more useless, incompetant and out of reality people than european institutions...this is beyond virtue signaling, way beyond political cuckoldry.

Just saw a video of an italian representative leaving the room for that reason.

He states that he left to protest for the fact that despite plenty of people is now jobless and desperate with no future options, the parliament "waste" time discussing and giving priority to such things due to leftist pressure.
Some words are not clear so I may have missed something he said.

His name is rinaldi, I have the clip he made in italian from a friend facebook page but cant find any material in english.

Feel free to google, hopefully you will find something in your own language if there is media coverage about it.

Big deal. The US government does this all the time, for months on end, and sometimes we even invade the offending country just to prove our point. This is bush league incompetence.

So what? they've spent 75 years since the end of WW2 discussing economics and people are still worse off now relatively than several decades ago even despite improved technology. So what does it matter that they spend some sessions on this when nothing would be accomplished anyway. If they want to talk about human rights a bit that's fine.

Look at his country. Young people there leave as soon as they can and there's pollution, mafia, dysfunctional politics, 3rd world level corruption, but now he wants to complain about a few sessions in the EU like this is what's holding Italy back? Fvck off.

Thats the whole point you said it correctly, by doing that basically a mass virtue signaling they are saying "fvck off" to all the europeans that are not involved in violence or discrimination but are jobless and possibly unable to open at all even after the lockdown is over.

Make Europeans poor and angry again like 100 yrs ago then see how violence, racism and tolerance will rose.

If such talkings got priority 4 months ago I would have been completely fine with that but as you know they are supposed to discuss about the ESM now (or whatever they wanna call it but they the deal is still the same) and any lost day its hundreds of jobs lost.

Unless of course its like Bible belt said and they are concerned about their happy oasis of fat salaries and low risks but then again those mobs in Europe basically smashed everything except gov building and shops who had armed owner.

Not sure if you recall the london riots in 2011 maybe you were too young? same exact stuff as now...fighting discriminations by getting that new plasma tv for free.

These are back from those days, check out the current situation in London and you'll see the same.

I missed those riots, like you said I was too young then.

Yes there is economic suffering right now but like I said before in another thread, there is no real economic problem caused by corona itself. There is no infrastructure collapse, lawlessness, crop failure, nuclear winter, war, raw material shortage, or anything else. It's only an accounting problem of moving digits in a computer around so people and businesses can afford to keep paying their monthly debts and pay for their subsistence. It's a maladministration, not a "crisis", but the words we use control our perception of reality - and perception is reality.

So any economic problems associated with corona are just a symptom of the real problem, which is that the academic economics discipline that guides our policy is already a joke and is made worse by corruption through political revolving doors. Nothing will change until revolutionary direct action comes back, like after WW1. This time I hope left-libertarianism like in Revolutionary Catalonia will win instead of being crushed and squeezed out by the fascists and communists with the tacit approval of the others. Get rid of statism, get rid of capitalism and its rule of finance capital. But I am pessimistic, both of practical implementation and of human nature (those lootings you show are examples of why).

This stuff is just some very distant thunder in the sky before then. Debt deflation and economic polarization between creditors/rentiers and debtors can only go on for so long before there is a spontaneous social breaking point. I think we sympathize on that.

Every time our overvalued us stock markets go down, our central bank rushes in with a new brilliant plan to prop it all back up. They cut rates to zero, then started buying crappy corporate junk bonds that no one else wants. Just this past week the fed said they will start buying individual bonds directly from corporations. They are forbidden by statute from buying stocks, but I could see that law being changed. The government has the funny money printing press on overdrive. They could just keep buying assets until they own everything.

Why can’t those stocks just disappear and “unexist”? Wouldn’t that also reduce inflation? This digital bull**** is just that—bull****. I don’t get why the stock market even matters tbh.

Come to America. More specifically, CA, NY, NJ, CT, OR, WA or IL and you'll see socialism in action first hand

You listed the most prosperous states that are home to Silicon Valley, Wall Street, Hollywood, Gold Coasts, Amazon / Microsoft / Boeing HQ, and the Pharmaceutical capital of the world... and you think they’re socialist?

Aren't those also the states with the highest property tax rates and income tax rates where people and businesses are fleeing because housing is skyrocketing and there are legions of homeless people wandering the streets.....???.....

Didnt CA tax their residents for a high speed rail train that never materialized....?????... Which was one of many outrages taxes imposed on the citizens to subsidize pet projects that dont even benefit the citizens....????....

PS::: Didnt CA also pass AB5 which hurts Uber/Lyft drivers, makeup artists, set technicians and pretty much all private contractors working in Hollywood in an attempt to get more payroll tax revenue.....????....
My spidey senses tell me that's kinda leftist......

One of the sure signs of socialism is a minority of very wealthy people and a struggling middle class slowly turning into poors.

Those very wealthy ones for some reason are the ones who love socialism the most...wonder why.

Socialism by nature is authoritarian:

1) Impose high taxes for ridiculous reasons to keep people perpetually poor

2) Pass excessive and unnecessary regulations to prevent small business start ups that can disrupt and challenge the status quo

The super wealthy love socialism because it's a trojan horse for an economic caste system that protects their comfortable position and wealth....

Thats the socialist dream, the herd of beggars is all equally poor and the are no wage inequality.

Better yet if you couldnt tell the difference between men and women, native and foreigners and so on.

They're part of the Bernie Sanders brand of socialism (champagne socialism) which means they themselves are rich but want to pass excessive taxation to keep everyone else poor....

Doesnt Bernie own like 3 houses....????...
