What even happened in this case before this? I can't see that this man would get sent to prison unless he was doing something shady to intentionally avoid payment and simultaneously ran his personal finance into the ground.
I thought (at least in UK rather than US law) that after a certain point in a relationship 50% of the man's possessions are legal property of his wife in a split. That means she's not entitled to any more, other than child payment. HOWEVER over here, if you prove that your wife/LTR girlfriend didn't contribute equally to the house/possessions, you can basically give her exactly what she paid in.
So for example she would get 10% of the house worth if she was working from home and didn't contribute financially.
I don't know, as unfair as marriage courts can be, men don't just get sent down for tiny infractions. This guy must have been doing something prior to this video that soured the case against him, I will have to research it.

Getting raped in divorce court isn't the same as skipping down the street and having a piano unexpectedly fall on your head.
Sure, if you think your marriage is "set and forget" after the honeymoon is over, that is a foolish way to live. Nearly every problem guys have with relationships is making assumptions about how the woman WILL behave based on some vague idea of how women SHOULD behave.
