I've dated some pretty hot women, and to be honest the sex always got old after a few months. Doesn't matter how badly I wanted them at one time, or how good the sex was...eventually I started to get wandering eyes.

When you find your dream lover (which took me until age 45), the sex gets better and better for at least the first 1-2 years.

When you and having regular sex with someone you are not in love with I think it will inevitably get boring no matter how much you try to change it up / try new things etc. Doing that only postpones the inevitable. If you actually love someone and are in an LTR / marriage I think a deeper emotional connection may help keep things from getting boring (not that I know that, I'm making a best guess).
