I love to talk to the ladies (duh), but sometimes things 'get weird'. Like they seem to put their defenses up after reading interest.

Fact...I am interested, intested in only talking. So tired that the assumption of sex is the norm. Makes me feel like a stalker.

Why can't people 'just talk' without stupid awkwardness?

Talking to women is great for a light convo with no purpose other than to build rapport, have fun, and escalate. But if you want a serious conversation about real things in the real reality that you live in then best to have those conversations with the guys. I agree with Julian here.My best results when talking to women in public is to come across as funny/sexual type vibe if you try to just talk as with men they will be creeped out because men are supposed to flirt with sex in mind that is what women are expecting us to do lol,I used to be in sales for a while and did really well because I exuded a funny non-serious vibe,but it has to come across as natural.

What you can do with most women is lecture them on something and when they adore you and you make sense, they will listen to you. Other than that, you can charm them into sleeping with you or not. I've always preferred talking to girls more so than guys. That doesn't mean I particularly like or respect everyone I talk to, but women are just more interesting to me. I like to try to understand what they are thinking and what motivates them. And I can understand the OP's point. I have tried to make friendly conversation with women before, only to have them shout at me "I have a husband!" LOL I just said hello, lady, that wasn't a marriage proposal.
