Weird Situation With Potential Plate

Over the weekend I end up meeting this really cute girl at a football watch party. Things are going very well. Lots of laughter, jokes, and the drinks were flowing nicely. Her best female friend and her BF take a liking to me and invite me out to dinner that evening. So the 4 of us go to an Asian restaurant. Things are going well, suggestions were even tossed around about double dating in the future.

Then the **** goes down.

As I go to grab the sriracha sauce, I accidentally knock it over and it squirts onto my date's friend's purse. The girl freaks out and after attempts with a dry and wet napkin she realizes the stain won't come out. She leaves to the bathroom and returns pretty upset telling her boyfriend about how it's an expensive bag, etc, etc. It's awkward. I'm sitting there not knowing what to say or do.

After a few minutes the other girl is telling her BF she's ready to leave. So we all pay out and I drive my date home. On the drive home she's making jokes about the situation. However I'm not so thrilled. I feel something bad is going to come from this whole thing. So I drop her off without making a move or anything.

Today I got a text from the boyfriend telling me politely that we have to figure something out with this purse thing. I offered to pay for the cleaning of it but that's it. He didn't agree with that 100% telling me I may need to buy his GF a new purse.

This situation has really put me off to these people but I'm still interested in my date.

Should I pursue or let that go? I haven't reached out to her at all due to this.

Yea I mean that's not where the focus should be on my post but I did offer to reimburse them for potential costs associated with it as we were chatting in the parking lot.

You offered to reinburse, then do what is needed first. It’s not for you to decide what condition she wants her purse to be in. If she thinks it’s ruined, then it’s ruined…

My bad man but it's kind of funny. I can be clumsy myself and have done plenty of embarrassing things around chicks. Yes ask the chick out again who gives a fvck, she was busting jokes about so what.

My suggestion is before you pay for the purse, get a first kiss from the girl. If you can get that, then it may be worth keeping the whole group in your life.

Tell them you'll pay for the purse and stall until the end of your next date with the chick (which should just be you and her). Once yoy get the kiss, pay for the purse. If she wants to be "just friends", wash your hands of the whole group.

Still haven't gotten this **** resolved. The guy has texted me a couple of times about it and I told him to let me know what amount is fair and I'll PayPal it to him. He said he'd ask his GF what she thought then proceeded to invite me to his bday dinner next weekend. Still waiting to hear back. That girl will be there too but not sure if I should attend his bday if this issue is still unresolved. He's even sent me a FB friend request which I haven't accepted yet.

I mean it could've been worse with it being my date's purse instead. Hopefully this turns into a joke in the near future and we all move forward.

The only way it can be screwed up is in the way you handle or not handle the current situation
