"You'll Never Feel READY to Walk Over"

Next Monday you'll feel more confident. After the gym you'll feel more confident. After one more drink you'll feel more confident. After you get a better haircut, a better jacket, a better job.

You've been "getting ready" for two years.

She's standing ten feet away right now. She'll be gone in four minutes. No amount of preparation will manufacture the courage that only comes from moving your feet.

Walk over. Stumble through the first sentence. Let it be clumsy. Let it be imperfect. You will feel more alive in those ten seconds than you have all month.

...a lack of steady, well-paying jobs for whites without college degrees has caused pain, distress and social dysfunction to build up over time. The mortality rate for that group, ages 45 to 54, increased by a half percent each year from 1999 to 2013.

...suicides were going up rapidly, and that overdoses mostly from prescription drugs were going up, and that alcoholic liver disease was going up.

These deaths of despair have been accompanied by reduced labor force participation, reduced marriage rates, increases in reports of poor health and poor mental health. So we are beginning to thread a story in that it's possible that [the trend is] consistent with the labor market collapsing for people with less than a college degree. In turn, those people are being less able to form stable marriages, and in turn that has effects on the kind of economic and social supports that people need in order to thrive.

...It's as if poorly educated whites have now taken over from blacks as the lowest rung of society in terms of mortality rates.

"I just moved here from Florida."

That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?

She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."

She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.

I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.

Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.

Weirdly enough, that looks to semi-follow major drug use in the white community. 80s and 90s gave way to 'Just Say No To Drugs' campaign, remember?

And folks still run around saying MONEY doesn't matter?

"She Made Her Decision Before You Finished Your Sentence"

Three seconds. That's how long it took. Your shoes. Your posture. The way you held your drink. Whether you looked at the floor or looked at her.

She already filed you away. Interesting. Boring. Safe. Bold. Before you even opened your mouth.

Everything you say after that is just her confirming what she already decided.

So stop rehearsing lines. Fix the first three seconds. Stand tall. Look up. Smile like you mean it. Walk like you belong wherever you're standing.

The words come later. The impression comes first.

Many white people I know are poor because they choose to be. They like those guaranteed food stamps and free Internet to use 18 hours a day. The Government has made working a choice in recent decades and many choose that lifestyle. Used to be if you didn't work you didn't eat.

Well, all you have to do is quit your job, follow your dreams and the money will follow!
Or better yet, just believe in the Law of Attraction lol. Stand in the middle of the room repeating, "I'm a Millionaire" over and over, believe it, and it will come true:rofl:

Safety nets are nice in theory, but they tend to create "moral hazard," or disencentives to work. Why would any rational person work a crappy job for minimum wage when they could get benefits (even less $$) for doing nothing?

"She Laughed All Night. Then She Ghosted You. Here's Why."

Dinner ran three hours. She laughed at everything. You walked her to her car thinking this one's locked in.

Then: nothing. Two texts. No reply. What happened?

You did what most men do on a great date. You filled every silence, answered every question, and left her with nothing to wonder about. No mystery. Nothing to sit with when she got home.

Rule 3 of the "22 Rules" changes the ending: tell her a little, hold back the rest, and let her imagination do the chasing. The ghosting stops too.

Is that like when they say "I'm the prize, I'm the prize!!" over and over, believe it and it will come true?

You are absolutely right. That's why we should raise the minimum wage.

Yup. Instead he would rather subsidize it himself by paying higher taxes that fund welfare, rather than make the corporations pay a living wage that will de-incentivize welfare. No sense.

"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.

No it wouldn't. The converse is true.
Well, plenty of economists (who don't work for the government and will say anything to get votes or keep their jobs) disagree.

Thomas Sowell - Basic Economics

Economics for Real People

Proof that Rising Minimum Wage Will Increase Unemployment

However, it doesn't really matter as the number of people on welfare, the number of homeless AND the minimum wage will keep increasing.

AND poor white people will continue to off themselves with drugs/alcohol.

Deaths of Despair’ Are Surging Among the White Working Class

A few goofs on arguing on the internet won't stop this death train.

The ghetto minorities in inner cities are always told they are too lazy. When whites are poor.. its someone else's fault.
It's pretty much the opposite of that.

Going to need to see some evidence. Democratic politicians don't count. From my vantage point welfare does nothing but quarantine poor people and keep them alive.
