At 27 you'd think I wouldn't see a plethora of girls even younger than I on their first, second, even third child. You'd be wrong. Women as young as 18 are having children left and right.
There's nothing wrong with procreating, and I'm not bashing anyone here who has kids. But in particular over the past several years I've been noticing that once a woman has a child she goes absolutely nuts raking in the attention a kid brings. The child, an extension of the woman, gives them an avenue to get even MORE attention from society, friends and their baby daddy--even more than when they were much thinner and without the stretch marks. The problem is... there seems to be an obsession here. It's drug like to them--a dopamine overload.
The woman will share breastfeeding pictures, pictures of her baby as well as photos of other women giving birth on her Facebook wall constantly. In public she'll yammer on and on about something her baby did and never stop. All topics lead back to her child. You can't have a normal conversation. You can't talk about anything remotely interesting because it all leads back to one thing: her, her parenthood and her offspring. They have become, as the title of the thread states, attention crazed shells.
These were once fairly interesting women. A lot of them I'd have sex with before they'd get knocked up by some dude a few months later, and then like clockwork, they'd become this cringey, walking husk that only talks about themselves.
I don't plan to ever get married. In a lot of ways I've thrown out conventional relationships. And I don't plan to ever have children--especially after seeing what the average woman turns into.
