so during my summer i have takin a easy A class to finish my last GE's at college.

yes, a few types of std's can be recieved from contact. Most obvious is herpes and HDV.

There are only 2 things which block STD's

1) Not having sex[oral, anal, vaginal, naked genital to genital contact] (works 100%...obviously lol)

2) Condom (does not work 100%...yup be careful)

spermicides work in not getting the girl pregnant, like the morning pill or birth control pills.

The reason I was confused was because some guy asked if you could get an STD from a rim job and you recommended flavored condoms. Last I checked condoms went on your penis, not your tongue. lol! So what good would a condom do when tossing a salad?
