You know when you meet a new person (let's say it's a woman in this case). You know all her friends, relatives, hobbies, interests, etc. Now you have a clear picture of this person, even without knowing her past. You've figured out if she's from a good family, if she's respectable, has good values, etc.
Yet, there will be times when it takes time to get to know people better...

What I'm trying to say is that it doesn't matter if this person has good friends, respectable family, or a good education, because there's still something that doesn't make you confident/convince about her. Yes, she's good, she cooks, she takes care of the house, she has a job, a few friends, she doesn't do drugs, and yet she doesn't convince you. You sense that something's wrong... Even with her family.

The point is this: have you ever had people in your life with a perfectly healthy and functional background and "pedigree", a respectable environment and upbringing, yet these people seemed to have personality problems/disorders? Perhaps they were narcissists, they enjoyed manipulating people, they were materialistic, they made fun of the weakest, they talk good about people and when not in their presence they reverse it, etc.. When you're with these people, when you spend time with them, these little things make you revisit their image as a respectable family, and you actually manage to identify things that make you feel ashamed or angry about the way they behave.

This is to say that many of my friends have gotten into relationships with women like this, because she was "well-liked by her mother," or because "she has a good family," or because "she's a local girl, a good girl." Simply and objectively, you can see in them that they have personality issues, whether they're materialistic or otherwise. I'm more than sure you have examples of this as well.
