"The Kiss of Death Mistake"

You replay the conversation at 2 a.m. She texted back fast yesterday. Today, nothing. Was that smile friendly or flirty? What did the shoulder touch mean?

Every hour you spend decoding her signals drains your confidence and hands her the controls. Women can sense that insecurity from across the room — and it repels them.

One of the "22 Rules" kills the obsession on the spot: assume she likes you, and act accordingly. Sounds too simple. Works anyway.

Her interest tends to rise to meet your expectations. Psychologists call it a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Well, somehow I managed to finangle my way onto the field for LSU's biggest game of the year - versus Auburn. Up until now I thought I had a pretty nice camera and lens, but once I saw some of the other guys out there I felt like a p*ssy...

Then again, none of them own theirs - they're all provided by the newspaper/magazine they work for... so I didn't feel that bad. I'm waiting for a friend who was also on the field taking pictures to email me one he got of me in the action.

ESPN was there:

As well as with this cool wireless HD camera ESPN had that "flew" through the air a few feet above the players heads.. apparently it was connected on each side with a spool of wire that was reeled in by someone with a joystick on computer, allowing it to follow the action perfectly smoothly:

Some of you might recognize this guy, even though the angle is weird...

I'll give you a hint, he played for LSU but now is somewhere else...

Then of course there's the football game itself...

However, I know you all aren't here to see shots of the game taken from the sideline... so I'll get to the point...

"I'm Not Looking for Anything Serious Right Now"

When a woman says it, guys hear a confession. A heads-up. A scheduling conflict.

Here's the translation: I don't feel anything. Right now. With you.

Watch what happens when a man triggers actual attraction. The busy career, the recent breakup, the "not in a place to date" — all of it evaporates instantly. The same woman who was guarding her freedom is suddenly free every night.

The "22 Rules" explain why. When the right switches flip, her timeline rearranges itself around you.

Okay, the girl on the right in the chr2 photo is, by my math, an HB 9. A Southern accent and a propensity for swallowing would make her a 9.5 in my book.

I'll take one of those, to go, please.

God, I miss college.

I was referring to the blonde. I'd give the brunette an 8.5 but if I saw the blonde walk into a room I'd excuse myself from whatever I was doing and get us introduced. "Forgive me, Your Holiness; hold that thought."

There was a thread on here about "examples of an HB9" or somesuch. This is me calibrating my scale.

Thanks, Diablo. Nice, uh, work.

What's an SHB?

I think it's "super hot babe"

It's incredibly pointless though because her being a 9 out of 10 implies that she is "super hot" already. Whoever came up with it is a dumbass.

"How I Made Sure No Woman Ever Friend-Zoned Me Again"

She calls you when her car breaks down. When she needs help moving. When some guy she's actually dating treats her badly.

You're the listener. The reliable one. The guy who would treat her so much better, if she'd just open her eyes.

She won't. You trained her to see you as the low-effort option — the friend who requires zero risk and zero investment. Every favor dug the hole deeper.

The "22 Rules" break the pattern. You'll stop auditioning for a role she already cast and become the man she chases instead. It starts with Rule 1.

On a closer inspection, I'm kinda disappointed on the quality of the cheerleaders.

Except for the one bullmoose pointed out, they're not all that special. Yuck. I thought cheerleaders were supposed to be so hot that you creamed yourself the second you layed eyes on them.

Doubt it very much... I'm trying to get sideline access for the Saints vs Dolphins game tomorrow but I don't know if that's going to work out. NFL is a bit trickier than college football, but since Nick Saban is coaching Miami and I've got an 'in' with someone very, very close to him I might be able to pull it off.

"She Made Her Decision Before You Finished Your Sentence"

Three seconds. That's how long it took. Your shoes. Your posture. The way you held your drink. Whether you looked at the floor or looked at her.

She already filed you away. Interesting. Boring. Safe. Bold. Before you even opened your mouth.

Everything you say after that is just her confirming what she already decided.

So stop rehearsing lines. Fix the first three seconds. Stand tall. Look up. Smile like you mean it. Walk like you belong wherever you're standing.

The words come later. The impression comes first.
