i just watched it fully for the first time last night-first saw it in 1999, but was still in my mid teens and didnt understand or appreciate anything about the great quotes on there.

but since we like to improve and be better men,- isnt fight -club exactly the opposite of self improvement
(this actually was pointed out by my 25 yr old cousin and i had no real reply for him when he highlighted some quotes to me)-i mean this is a movie many-posters's on here have said its a must see for every-man, but it has many contradictions.
but as my cousin pointed out to me it has many-illwords against self improvement.
(i myself im against self improvement sometimes by the way, because i feel we keep trying to meet an unrealistic place we will never reach but try expaining to the rest of the population and they'll say your a loser and lazy for giving-up somethings)

back to topic
to quotes a few.

just to name a few as my cousin pointed out.

1.TD- **** off with your sofa units and strine green stripe patterns, I say never be complete, I say stop being perfect, I say let... lets evolve, let the chips fall where they may.

2.Listen up, maggots. You are not special. You are not a beautiful or unique snowflake. You're the same decaying organic matter as everything else.

(i look at this site and im sure many of you guys here will cry like biiitches..if you are told you are not special lol.)

3.ed norton to bradpit-[to Tyler, while looking at a Calvin Klein-esque ad on the bus] Is that what a real man is supposed to look like?
TD- Self improvement is masturbation. Now self destruction.
(with that comment on there isnt self improvement the defining moment for most of you guys here?isnt that what youve come here for, isnt your goal to look like that guy in the calvin klein ad?).

thats a funny quote because tyler dudden himself looks like a calvin klein model.

how serious do you take some quotes on fight-club. because im sure many new-bees, would get confused if they are adviced here about how self improvement is very improtant on the physical side and then watch fightclub which you lot go on about it being a great dj movie and be like wtf?

i think its silly some of the things on that movie.well its just a movie anyway. a movie many guys seem to hold highly.

how many of you are really prepared to give-up the lavish and pointless life-style,without designer labels and watches and pull a women without all that?

so i dont think you can view fightclub as a saviour movie for the mordern men, when frankly-without these consumer-lifestyle-most of you wouldnt get women.
you can't can you? because you feel you need that to impress women and to be fair most women wouldnt bat an eye at you if you aint have them things.

you cant really hold some things in fight-club highly its good morally for our soul as men we wana be free, but the reality is we live in a consumer society where your success is based on what goods you have purchased. e.g having an expensive suit shows success.

and frankly few men have the balls to toatlly go against the social conditioning we all have been living with. you just come of as cheap to some women.

It's something like "only after we've lost everything, are we free to do anything". May not be 100% on but that was the chemical burn scene. My fav. movie though.

i also loved the part about brand named clothing,

TD, said something along the lines of"why should i have some guys name on my pants".
thats rings true for me,i hate name branded clothings. even b4 i saw that movie i just hated being the poster-boy for some designer who is probably gay and there i was showing off his name like he's some kinda god...

and if you check-out the girl he was banging in the movie she wasnt exactly an hb9.she was a crack-***** with issues lol. so in a sense he settled for the lowest- to get sex from which is something we preach against on here.
