(Unconfirmed) word is that the 360 will be available in North American stores on November 4th. It will retail for $299US and games will cost $59US. It will be released in the UK later in the month, probably at a slightly higher price.

Yeah it's comin out soon, before christmas season. No big suprise here they started working on it after the numbers were on the wall when xbox first came into the market and ps2 had that unsurmountable lead in the industry.

Ehhh...I used to be really into videogames, but it doesn't really seem to be worth the high cost anymore...

I agree with Interpol, $60 for a game is pretty steep. There are better things i can do with that money.. buy more guitar stuff.

I'll be getting it. I go to college next year and it will be a good thing to take there. I own the current Xbox and like it, so hopefully Xbox 360 won't disappoint.

its very clear and its been said that xbox360 is way better than ps3, specially the graphics.

I have heard and seen the exact opposite..Just yahoo for the specifications....

That's one of the advantages of growing out of the teen or twenty something years. Hopefully by then $60 is just a drop in the bucket and wouldn't mean a lot financially. But then again, I don't usually buy more than two or three games a year. That's only $15 a month.

You guys are forgetting about game development. Microsoft has made it very easy for companies to make games for XBox. That makes time to market less and possibly longer revenue streams. This could mean more quality games for XBox. Take a look at Project Gotham Racing 3 for an example.

This is true. Also remember that 720p resoultion is in EVERY game.

I thought the N64 was 4-5 years ago? And that was before the XBox right?

I'm staying firmly in my zone of classic games. All you need is a Pentium 133 to play those.

N64 came out in 1996, PS2 in 2000, Gamecube and Xbox in 2001...

Latest word is that the Xbox 360 will be released in differing versions over the next five years. The hard drive has been an area of discussion, analysts predict that the console will launch in two varieties, one with and one without a hard drive.

Supposedly, developers have been told not to rely on the hard drive. We could assume that the primary use of the storage will be for added multimedia functionality that Microsoft has up its sleeve. It has also been rumoured that later versions of the Xbox 360 will be shipped with the added benefit of an HD-DVD drive.
