There is this hottie in three of my classes and we talk every now and then and know who each other is but not anything more than that. Anyway she lives in the apartment complex across the street from me and i know which room it is because she has yelled out her window to me (so i'm not stalking her or anything)

would it be lame to go knock on her door to ask her to do something since i don't know her number or anything. Or should i get her digits in class sometime and go about it that way?

Talk to her in class first - you don't want to Just show up at her door - you don't know who she could have there or what she maybe doing.

My plan was to go knock on her door before class, walk together to class, and then get her info. So i don't think it would be too tact since we're going to the same place anyway, but i'd definitely like some more opinions

Although i suppose the ultimate answer is do what you want and don't care what she thinks

if you do this you have to be very alert to her IL. if it is there, do it. what the hell. if it isn't you are going to be very annoying and she will worry that you may not go away.

Newman was saying use a little tact. For all you know she could have a guy in the room and then you wouldn't get to ask for it.

If your plan is to walk to class together why not just "HAPPEN" to run into her as she's coming out of her building. She probably leaves around the same time as you anyway.

Say sarcastically with a smirk, "Hey Sally funny running into you here. Where are you headed? To class no way? What a coincidence! Me too! What are the chances? This must be fate I tell ya."

When you get to class say, "Well that was fun Sally lets do it again sometime. Next time I'll let you carry my books."

After that next time you run into her bust her for stalking you.
"You better not be stalking me cuz I'm just starting to feel settled in my place and I'd hate to have to move."

Like iqqi said pay close attention to her IL. Keep the conversation light and fun. If she seems to be responding favorably then go for the digits.

Don't just show up at her door. Kinda creepy.
