i couldnt find any definite answers on the internet or the search button here, so i figured id ask the guys here at the health n fitness forum. as u can probably guess from the title, i currently have a cold, sore/itchty throat, cough, congestion, but i think the worst is over. now its just the annoying time where it settles in my sinus's and i cough my left lung up. normally i wouldnt stress out about taking a week off, its good to let the body get a good recovery once in a while. unfortunetely the last couple weeks ive been on vacation, so my regular routine hasnt been done in a while, and i dont wanna go 3 straight weeks without doing anything. in a little over 2 weeks ill be trying out for the varsity tennis team at my university so i need to be in my best physical condition. generally i do a lot of conditioning, biking, swimming, sprinting, actually playint tennis, weight lifting, so i was wondering if a light routine would be ok or not. extending my recovery time because i pushed my body is definetely not an option, but sitting on my butt isnt exactly something i wanna do. any input would be appreciated.

dont do it unless your training at home. your just gonna get everyone else at the gym sick and thats just some scumbag behavior.

If you feel you're physically up for it, go for it. Otherwise, rest and recover.

I lifted while I had strep throat. Actually made me feel better. I used to go to swimming practice while sick because it made me feel better. Just make sure you wipe EVERYTHING down.
