Work out muscled groups 3X per week?

Back in the olden days we used to work the same muscle groups 2 or 3 times per week.

Typically it was arms and upper body Monday, Wednesday and Friday (same exact exercises each day), and legs on Tuesday and Thursday (again same exercises each day).

So every exercise for arms would be done 3 times per week.

Is that still advisable? It seems to me that current thought is that doing each muscle group only once or twice a week is more beneficial.

Can someone clear this up for me? If I do normal curls, for example, how many days out of the week should they be done?

For most people this will be overkill. To get a specific answer for your situation, post what your goals are, what your stats are, what your diet looks like, what your routine looks like.

You dont need to work a muscle group more than twice a week. Then you should rest up so that u can grow and recover. If youre doing smaller muscle groups like your biceps, you dont need work them all that much with isolated exercises, cus you work them in other lifts such as lat pulldowns.
