- There are 2 main ways of connecting with a professional athlete:
1.) You actively pursue him at a club, restaurant, store, or at one of his games and hope that you are showing out enough for him to be interested in your flirtation.
2.) You will be introduced to each other via a mutual friend and he will actively pursue you.
- Your first date will be magical. Chic restaurant. Suit and tie for him. Dress for you. Being paraded through the restaurant by the manager while everyone stares.
- Yes, HE WILL have an ego, whether big or small, and you will have to be loud and clear that you will not put up with it. Not now, not ever. He needs the tough love because he is used to getting his way 99% of the time.
- He will shower you with gifts. Not the typical gifts that you would receive from anyone else you have dated before. I’m talking about GIFTS! Designer everything.
- He will look for you while he is on the field/court to make sure you and your posse got to your seats. Once he spots you, he will give you the biggest smile along with either a wave, a wink, or even a kiss. This will make you feel like no one else is in the stands.
- Your schedule and his schedule will not always work well together and you will spend a lot of time apart. So, when that time comes around again for you to get back to your regularly scheduled life, you will want to kiss him and hug him for as long as you can, for you aren’t sure when you will see him again. It could be days, weeks, or unfortunately even months.
- You will go days without hearing from him. This will eat you up inside. This will make you google him to see if you can get any news on him lately. This will also make you search for his name on social media sites/apps to see what people are posting about him. TRY NOT TO DO THIS! Sometimes the less you know, the better. When you do hear from him you will feel a rush of warmth over your body.
- The time will come where you will want him to commit to you. This part sucks because most likely he won’t be ready for that. I’m not saying that all athletes aren’t ready to commit, but just be prepared for him to NOT be ready.
- You will start to accuse him of lying to you because his fame and stories of professional male athletes will get to you. Also, because you know you guys aren’t exclusive yet and you most likely will never be exclusive.
- You’ll start to distance yourself from him. Especially since you feel like he isn’t as interested in you as he was before.
- And right when you think you are starting to get over him, you will be on his mind and he will hit you with a text and your heart will fall right back into it.
