"I'm Not Looking for Anything Serious Right Now"

When a woman says it, guys hear a confession. A heads-up. A scheduling conflict.

Here's the translation: I don't feel anything. Right now. With you.

Watch what happens when a man triggers actual attraction. The busy career, the recent breakup, the "not in a place to date" — all of it evaporates instantly. The same woman who was guarding her freedom is suddenly free every night.

The "22 Rules" explain why. When the right switches flip, her timeline rearranges itself around you.

Will the value of mature men rise?

This is something I was thinking about. You may recall I made a thread earlier asking about whether it gets better after 30. The responses among most was that it does. It got me to thinking about the economics of the "courtship market."

Basically, our economy will continue to be depressed for quite some time. I think many of these changes are going to be permanent. It's not really anything that our leaders have done wrong. It is because of the rise of many countries that were previously not major players in the global economy such as China and India.

In the past, a huge chunk of wealth was concentrated in relatively few countries. But now, several developing nations are claiming for themselves a larger slice of the pie. The gravy train we've enjoyed in the Western world is coming to an end. It's going to be particularly bad near the bottom and that will disproportionately affect young people.

Gone are the days when you could graduate high school, get a job at a factory and be able to afford a very comfortable suburban life style on a single income. Nowadays, even a college degree doesn't mean a whole lot. This means that it will be much harder to establish oneself financially and thus it will take longer for most people to do so.

What this means is that it will take longer to accumulate wealth. You can't count on a good paycheck if you're working a relatively unskilled position. Wages are stagnating or going down and expenses are going up. Many folks will either have to take a longer time to climb up the ladder, or pursue longer training to secure higher paying jobs.

Because women have a much more limited window of fertility in comparison to men, they will increasingly look to mature men for LTRs; fewer young bucks will be able to provide them with the financial security they are looking for. As women approach 30, they will look to guys in their own age group and find that many of them simply can't give them the idyllic family life they envisioned. I think that will greatly increase the value of the mature man.

A lot of this might just be intellectual masturbation, but I thought it was an interesting thing to consider. Whatever happens, I think the economic dynamics of the world are undergoing some major changes and that will have implications in the "romance market" too.

"She Wants a Man, Not a Boy"

You asked her if she wanted to grab coffee. Then you asked if the time worked. Then you asked if the place was okay. Then you asked if she'd prefer tea.

Four questions. Four chances for her to say no. Four signals that you're terrified of making a decision.

Plan it. Pick the place. Pick the time. Tell her where to meet you. She'll either show up or she won't.

Either way, you look like a man instead of a scared little boy.

Sure, but this isn't anything new....young women hooking up with more mature men of means.

Just be careful you don't become the cuckold/beta provider while she's out f**king the pool-boy. ;)

Careful? It's virtually guaranteed. I was watching an old twilight zone episode in which an older famous actor had a young hot wife who was banging a young hot personal trainer/pool boy or something. Even back then this behavior was normal. Like a wise man once said, you are only renting time in the pvssy, just don't think you're the only tenant.

That's why you don't marry just for exclusive sex-rights. :p

It doesn't work that way. A lot of simple-minded dudes think that marriage is just a "sexual exclusivity contract"...women, on the other hand...

Dear Warrior,
"you are only renting time in the pvssy, just don't think you're the only tenant."as the song has it "As a Silver dollar goes from hand to hand,a Woman goes from Man to Man"....I think Lexingtons take on the changing World is right on....but of course these great Nations like China and India, are just re assuming an economic power they have generally always had.....But as Disraeli said, there is a deal of ruin in a Nation...Empires have a use by date of 250-300 years, sadly when it comes time for the US to pass the baton,it may succumb to anger and violence, and remember the States are still the mightiest Military Power the World has seen....We live in interesting times.

"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.

Good post Lexington. You are absolutely right and I'm an eyewitness to the truth of your thread.

I do very well and I'm over 50 yrs old now. The women in their 30's and 40's have expressed interest in me. Some even in their 20's.

I know so many men who have just stagnated. They did not step up and improve themselves and their status in life. I have a good buddy in his late 30's. Very cool guy and he's a good looking fella. Works in a restaurant. That's all he's ever done. Has no health insurance or benefits. Knocked up two women and is stuck in the child support wasteland. His current girlfriend and the mother of his second child has hit on me pretty hard as obviously she sees me as "security". By the way I told him about it and he was appreciative. He knows I wouldnt go there.

Thing is, and no disrespect to the younger guys here, is that this generation has simply not put forth the effort to become "better" men. The better man is always more attractive to women, always. It does get better after 30, 40 and even 50. No question about it. You have to make the effort and step it up.

So what do I say? Do whatever it takes to get better. Use what you have been given and improve on it whatever it may be. Education, job, confidence, personality, whatever.

Don't wait for the world to rock you, you rock the world on your own terms. That's what I call confidence and determination.
