Will distance really make the heart grow fonder?

So my gf of 7 months went out of town a couple days ago and she is coming back on the day I leave for a one week mission trip. So by the time I get back we will have been apart for nearly 2 weeks and not have talked much cause ill be in another country. The longest we've gone without seeing each other in recent memory is like 3 days and everything about our relationship has been pretty good. I'm not really worried about it or anything, in fact I'm actually kind of enjoying my alone time. Just curious how this will affect things.

So will this extended time apart with minimal talking let the iron grow cold or will is this distance good for our relationship?

that all depends on how fond she is of you. some girls will miss you a lot more and appreciate you more when you get back others will take the time to evaluate things deciding if she wants to start looking somebody else. too much distance for too long a time destroys a relationship when there are other guys poking around when you're not there. is your sex life still good?

asa is on the money. It all depends on how your relationship is and how much your girlfriend loves you. If she is completely loyal and committed to you then it will only make her miss you and appreciate you more, it may have no effect, but it certainly won't push her away. If your relationship is rocky or you two argue frequently, then it may cause her to realize how peaceful things are without you around. The worst case scenario is your relationship is rocky and she has other guys peeking their heads in. She sees the benefits of you not being there and has a new guy who she can jump ship to.

One of my exes and I were separated by 6 hours or so, but she was completely committed to me and the distance didn't affect our relationship negatively, eventually things got routine but that's another story. Another girl I was with had a boyfriend for years but they were separated by hours of distance as well except she has never been a loyal girlfriend, it only took me a few weeks before sealing the deal.

Good girls will handle the distance positively, but sluts will be sluts whether you're a thousand miles apart or next door, being farther away just makes it simpler.
