Why "Whatever You Want" Keeps You Single

She says the movie looks dumb; you suddenly agree. She tests you with a little attitude; you apologize for nothing.

You think you're being easy to get along with. She reads something else entirely: a man with no edges. Nothing to hold on to. No friction, no tension, no reason to wonder what he really thinks.

The "22 Rules" taught me to push back — playfully, calmly, without needing her approval. Strange things happened after that.

Why you should always get a paternity test

"So, What Do You Do for Fun?"

She asks it casually, mid-sip. And you feel the floor open up, because the honest answer is work, gym, and a couple shows you're half-watching.

Women rarely say this out loud, but a man with a life is attractive before he says a word. The guy who spent Saturday deep-sea fishing and came back with photos and a story — he walks in already interesting.

The "22 Rules" pushed me to build a life worth talking about. Turns out the fastest way to be interesting to women is to be interested in your own life first.

In a just world, women should be punished for cuckolding at least as much as rapists are punished for their crime.

Any smart man will get a paternity test no matter how much he trusts his wife.
Just make it a matter of policy and nothing personal. Maybe this could even prevent switched-at-birth scenarios.

I know I told my wife, long before she was my wife, that I will never sign a birth certificate before a paternity tests. She know to expect this when we have kids.

"She Wants a Man, Not a Boy"

You asked her if she wanted to grab coffee. Then you asked if the time worked. Then you asked if the place was okay. Then you asked if she'd prefer tea.

Four questions. Four chances for her to say no. Four signals that you're terrified of making a decision.

Plan it. Pick the place. Pick the time. Tell her where to meet you. She'll either show up or she won't.

Either way, you look like a man instead of a scared little boy.

The manginitis of reddit is close to making me puke.

"Think of the childreeeeeeeeeeeeen!" And become an alimony-disguised-as-child-support slave to the soon to be ex, therefore rewarding her strategy of getting some sucker to raise the thug's spawn.

Poor sucker. What he needs is an escape route to Mexico, not all that crap.

These days, if a guy unknowingly raises some other dude's kid, it's his own fault as far as I'm concerned. It's 2011, everybody on down to the lowest Maury-Povich-watching ghetto dweller knows about paternity testing, if you're too stupid to do it you get what you deserve.

Couldn't agree with you more. On a related note:

Paternity test are definitely worth it if you have some doubts.
They're worth it even if you don't have doubts. Taking the conservative 4% figure, that means there's roughly 2.4M children out there between the ages of 0 and 14* who's fathers were lied to about paternity. Out of those 2.4 MILLION men a good deal are likely oblivious to the truth about the child's paternity.

*As of 2008 there are about 60,000,000 kids between the ages of 0-14.

wow that sucks, another tip for guys getting into sexual relationships is to do an STD test - probably after the condom sex a couple times. However if you notice there are strange physical symptoms from woman, DO NOT PROCEED

"She Made Her Decision Before You Finished Your Sentence"

Three seconds. That's how long it took. Your shoes. Your posture. The way you held your drink. Whether you looked at the floor or looked at her.

She already filed you away. Interesting. Boring. Safe. Bold. Before you even opened your mouth.

Everything you say after that is just her confirming what she already decided.

So stop rehearsing lines. Fix the first three seconds. Stand tall. Look up. Smile like you mean it. Walk like you belong wherever you're standing.

The words come later. The impression comes first.

Ouch! I feel so sorry for that guy. Imagine all those years.. :woo:
That's why I agree to take a DNA paternity test first, whether you are in doubt or not. Better be safe than feel sorry later.

Many fathers have learned through testing that the children they have cherished and nurtured are not their biological children. As stunned as most of these men are to find they are no genetic relation to their children, they are even more astonished to hear that the courts don't care. If a support order has already been established he may be obligated to continue paying---even if the child isn't his. The practical, and compassionate, solution to the problem is automatic paternity testing at birth, or even earlier. This is the only way to prevent the hard-hitting issues that arise when fraud is uncovered years after a father and child have grown to love each other deeply.

I would say that a man killing a woman who perpetrated paternity fraud on him is justifiable homicide. I think the Moslems have the right idea on this.

Wow, unreal. I dont that guy was (is) a troll...it sounded pretty sincere to me.

Of course when sosuavers read a story like this it's a knee-jerk reaction to throw the baby out with the bath water and say "I'm NEVER getting married, pat test, pat test, pat test!" There is certainly nothing wrong with either of those things, but anyone with half a rational brain knows that marriage is FAR from a sure thing, even under the BEST of circumstances.

What I think was probably a contributing factor is the age at which they got together and length of their relationship. It shouldn't be too earth-shattering when one person in a long-term relationship that started in high school gets an itch to go out and try something "adventurous"...aka cheat. NOt necessarily a rule, but not a rarity either. She lied to him for the same reason anyone lies---she was too much of a coward for the truth.

Tragic story...hope they at least pull through for the boy through his health problems.

-As an interesting side note, I remember our genetics lecturer telling us some INSANE stories about people who would come in for genetic testing of some sort and all kinds of crazy cheating and relationship dirt would come up. She said one couple came in to have their child tested for what turned out to be a very rare disease that is mostly seen in consanguinity (inbreeding). Well, turns out, this couple were father and daughter. Apparently unbeknownst to both of them...you couldn't make this sh!t up. She also said the paternity thing was very common.

Agreed.

And don't delude yourself that it only happened because they got married young.

Even a woman who gets married later after "playing the field" is still prone to this, even if she thinks she loves her husband.

All it takes is for her to be attracted to some other dude, she won't be able to control her feelings, and it may very well happen.

I know I'm not the only dude on here who has been in the role of potential sperm donor for some married woman.
