On the one hand, women are becoming even more selective (hypergamous) than ever. Even 8/8+ SMV men are finding dating more difficult.
On the other, women are becoming less selective, and more accepting of providers.
I think both trends are occurring simultaneously. Women who are looking for stable relationships are finding that the pool of stably employed men with higher than average incomes is rapidly shrinking as the economy continues to tank. Therefore, they are compromising sacrificing looks/sex appeal for longer term financial security.
Other women are not bound by financial considerations since they already have their own income. Or, when traveling are only looking for a short term relationship. Or a top dog shows up at a party or event unexpectedly and "long term relationships" are thrown out the window and the situation turns into a free for all. Another scenario is where LTR girls try to resist the top dog but he keeps showing up and they can no longer resist. Will power gives way to instinct.
In summary the unexpected 180 of a fake pandemic has thrown a ratchet into the works and women are scrambling for financial security at the same time that hypergamy continues to escalate (due to social media, online dating)!

The last several times I've been out, I'm seeing something interesting. There are quite a few bro's I've met who've got their act together: good job, good health, standard or even well above average good looking guys. In theory, these guys should fit easily into the "lover" or "alpha" category...
