Why is the DJ attractive to a woman?

Don't be too nice. Be positive. Don't take any ****. Don't pay for things unless I am feeling generous . And a few more.

But why do things like this work?

What are women attracted to and why? Why jerks?

You should not have to fake a behaviour to get women. Nice guys actually do this faking a lot. Why do you think they pretend to be a woman's friend etc?

What is generally attractive are traits that are instinctively associated with healthy offspring. Women may not want to consciously have children, but contraception and feminism do NOT reverse millions of years worth of evolutionary instincts.

let's redefine what a jerk is not.

Paying for someone else you barely know. You wouldn't give 20$ to a homeless beggar would you? So why should you spend 20$ for a meal or a gift on a woman you've just met? I've done it plenty of times and I've not done it plenty of times, but I only do this sort of thing if I want to, I def. don't feel like a jerk when I decide not to do it. And I never do this anymore because it takes too much time to eat dinner out somewhere.

Not being overly nice. I'm not sure what this is even about. I am always nice, but I don't act like a p*ussy guy. If one is so worried about getting a negative reaction that he's about as much fun to talk to as Bob Dole, I can imagine that's a real issue to address. I think the issue here is just to be confident enough to be cool (no need to stress) and express one's own sense of humor.

Ask yourself this: What would a woman want with someone who is boring, super feminine (she's not a lesbian or she'd be out with a woman), or grosses out all her girlfriends?

Every since she was a little girl the media & society have been putting a different idealized image in her head. Football players, successful bussinessmen, crazed rockstars, "OC" type guys, artists, and basically a guy that is perceived as having choices in life and someone who will make her girlfriends jealous. I'm not saying people should change who they are and pretend to be someone else, but I am saying it's worthwhile to take inventory and make certain one is not afraid to show who is really is in order to "not screw up his chances". Look at all the examples I listed above, basically there is a broad spectrum of personalities and styles that are broadcasted as attractive. everyone fits into one or more of these categories if they only realized it. In other words, lowering one's defenses and anxieties makes good sense.

MY OPINION:

Being a jerk works in the beginning if you do it very lightly. When you first meet a girl, and tease her a little bit, in a friendly way.

But being nice to a girl is the best way to create a loving relationship. Being nice is the only way to make a relationship last. When you are a nice, you make a girl feel good. Making her feel good mentally is the most important thing.

Being too nice is a bad move. But showing care, and moderate amounts of attention is the way to go. Make her feel mentally happy with you.

So attracted her with the charming jerk "I don't care" attitude, and then keep her with the charming loving attitude. Just don't be too nice to the point where she walks all over you.

I have a very unique way of looking at things when it comes to society. I see every group of friends as sort of like a tribe thousands of years ago. The leaders or the strongest warriors were the ones who most likely possessed these "jerk type" traits, and these leaders and strong warriors were the ones who had the best chance of survival since they're the strongest in the group. I believe in the strongest survive motto, and if you apply this to women back then, then obviously they're going to be attracted to the strongest warriors and leaders. I recall in the documentary of Gladiator that gladiators were often loved by the women; it was simply because they were strong. Of course society has changed, but this has only occurred recently when Romeo took over the thoughts of men and changed their perspective on women. Certain mindsets are still applied to us thousands of years ago when we were still hunting for wild animals and roamed around from land to land, and I doubt it's going to change soon.
