"The Kiss of Death Mistake"

You replay the conversation at 2 a.m. She texted back fast yesterday. Today, nothing. Was that smile friendly or flirty? What did the shoulder touch mean?

Every hour you spend decoding her signals drains your confidence and hands her the controls. Women can sense that insecurity from across the room — and it repels them.

One of the "22 Rules" kills the obsession on the spot: assume she likes you, and act accordingly. Sounds too simple. Works anyway.

Her interest tends to rise to meet your expectations. Psychologists call it a self-fulfilling prophecy.

We hung out saturday night, and when she left she asked me to call her today or tommorow. I mentioned that we were having a cookout at the house, and she was all, "A cookout! Gimme a call!".

Well, those plans fell through, so I texted her to let her know and see if she wanted to go out instead. Never replied.

Same sh1t happened last week. Told me to call her monday, called, didn't answer. I didn't bother with her for the rest of the week, but I ran into her at the bar friday, and she was all over me. Then she was the one to get a hold of me saturday to do something.

What the hell?

"She Liked You in March. It's October Now."

Attraction runs on a clock.

She flirted for weeks. Touched your arm. Found reasons to be alone with you. And you were careful. Respectful. Waiting for the right moment.

The moment had a shelf life. It expired around month two, and by the time you asked her out, she'd quietly filed you under "little brother."

One of the hardest lessons inside the 22 Rules: women rarely wait. Interest either grows or it decays, and nothing decays it faster than a man who never moves.

Make the move while she's still inventing reasons to be near you.

definetly sounds like a test -- how long have you been seeing her? Act distant and don't call for a week then see how she reacts.

if they're hot, they're in PLENTY OF DEMAND.

no reason to be stuck on one person when you have legions beating down the door trying to get to you.

and don't fool yourself. we all want a hot chick who doesn't know she's hot. doesn't exist.

DAILY EXPERIENCE tells them that they're in demand.

"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.

I dunno. We've been kinda "friends" for about a year and a half. I keep trying to walk the hell away, but every couple of months she'll pop up again to lead me on, rinse, repeat. I did finally fvck her a couple weeks ago, but she's been on the fence ever since. Said she wanted to stay friends, I said I'd rather not. Blah blah blah. Sometimes she comes on to me hardcore, and other times she's really cold. Regardless, it never goes anywhere beyond her making out with me (besides that one time), then saying she wanted to stay friends. Whatever.

She still has hangups about her ex, and has been single for the past two years, but the other night she told me she knows she needs to move on now.

Anyway, I texted her again to say something like "I guess you're sleeping. I'm gonna head out anyway. Call me if you go out.". Then I got a text back saying, "You didn't get my message?". Umm... "No". Then nothing.

So I called her.

abridged convo:

me: What did you say?
her: That's wierd that you got one text, but not the other (I have had people send me messages, and I never get them, so she's probably telling the truth). Well, I had to (something about a family thing today, I wasn't really paying attention), so I wouldn't have been able to make it to the cookout anyway.
me: Oh well.
her: I kinda want to come out, but I don't have any money (she was unemployeed for a couple of weeks, and will be broke until next week).

Then she went on about how she doesn't know if she's gonna have money to go out at all the rest of the week, and some back and forth stuff about how she wants to stay home because she doesn't want to get changed, but she wants to come out, but she doesn't want to come out, ect...

me: Well, I'm going out anyway. There's nothing better to do, and I'm not gonna sit around the house. Maybe I'll see ya this weekend. And if you change your mind, and decide to come out, maybe I'll buy you a couple drinks (seriously, it doesn't matter, we've always bought drinks for each other).
her: I'll definately keep it in mind (she won't). Bye.
me: Later.

I have horrible phone skills.

So.... whatever. I don't know what she wants. I noticed that I was bumped up to #3 on her myspace friends list, just behind her best friend, and her best friend from HS who lives on the other side of the country. I took the ex who she's been hung up on's spot. Umm... yeah. I honestly don't understand the mentality behind that myspace crap, but girls seem obsessed with that stupid thing.

This is where I stopped reading. She's obvisouly keeping you on the back burner, in other words stringing you along. She won't let go because you seem to have some value in her eyes, but it's only in case she doesn't see anything better in the line.

Remember, if there's really a decent amount of attraction, it doesn't take a whole year and half to come out. Unless of course you or she or both of you two were in relationships and couldn't act on it.

Find more chicks who have higher interest in you.

I know this, because let's face it, many of us do the same things to the HB6s we know...:woo:

****! Why do I do this?

She did text me back, and came out. By the end of the night, she was going off about how she can "sense" things in people. I asked her what she could sense in me, and she said that I'm "a good person", and that I've always had a thing for her, going back YEARS. Then I walked her to her car, stood there like an awkward sonofa*****, and got another ****ing hug.

"We'll be in touch soon."

My god! I'm not cut out for this. Back to playing video games.

This made me laugh out loud... I absolutely love how guys will give girls the BEST intentions...

"She pushed me down the stairs, but only cuz my head was hurting and she wanted to take my mind off of it.."

"She didn't text me back, but then again I know how expensive text messaging is and I understand her wanting to save money being unemployed and all"

"I tried to kiss her and she smacked me, but i'm sure there was a fly on my face"

This is typical you're building attraction and then we assume when were on the phone they will stay that way. Of course it doesn't end up that way, this is why you have to always keep reattracting her. When a girl says she will call you back she is mostly not going too.

"Why Women Dump the Guys Who Try the Hardest"

You paid for dinner. You drove. You said "whatever you want is fine" every single time. All the effort, no expectations.

And she left anyway — probably for a guy who makes her pick up the pizza.

Painful. Also predictable. Her mind quietly concludes that anything requiring zero effort from her is worth exactly zero. You became a free sample, and free samples get taken for granted.

The 22 Rules flip the dynamic. Small shifts that get her investing effort, money, and time in you — until SHE'S the one afraid of losing YOU.
